Cover of book with text in yellow reading: The Firearm Revolution: From Renaissance Italy to the European Empires, overlaid on an image of an angel in seventeenth-century dress with wings and a long gun.
Hello Bluesky! My new book, THE FIREARM REVOLUTION, is out on 14 April. Itโs about how a new technology changed society, and how hard it was to control. Hereโs a little thread of whatโs inside:

Elizabeth, Marchioness Conyngham, is best known as the final mistress of George IV.

The cover of THE FACE featuring a sculpture of a face on its side against a blue background.
Happy #PubDay to @fayboundalberti.bsky.social! THE FACE is a brilliant, wide-ranging look at how we interpret facesโand what those interpretations say about us. I didnโt even know about face blindness until reading this. Youโll never look at first impressions the same way. shorturl.at/3AbAG

This was such an exciting article to edit - a history of the Highland Clearances and the sustainable customs it left behind, written (literally) from the ground up.
