My favorite is when I make myself spend so much time on details that will ultimately get obscured by other objects, but I still draw them in (and mask over them) JUST IN CASE I decide to move something a millimeter to the left...

[Aww...BESTIES...] Two cats lie intertwined and asleep. [And then there's ones you get to know better and...] A mangy cat with a short tail, a scar over one eye, and crooked whispers has brought what appears to be some kind of wrapper. It begins to regale the story of its tragic life. "My mother gave birth to me inside an abandoned truck and subsequently perished. Out of the litter of six, I was the only one that survived the winter. This scar? I fought a coyote. As you can see, I won." The human stares, amazed. "Anyway, you look utterly helpless and shit at hunting, so I brought you a snack." The cat bounds away. "Okay, bye." The human dramatically reaches for it, calling after it. "NO, WAIT!! COME BACK!!
