Warming weakens natural enemies of insects. We found that higher temperatures strongly reduce the success of parasitoids β tiny wasps that help regulate insect populations in nature - and narrows their diet. Published in Ecology Letters dx.doi.org/10.1111/ele....

This semester, our university was visited by incoming students for @plantecolcb.bsky.social's Quantitative Ecology Module. We had such a nice and vibrant community, interesting courses, seminars, excursions plus even some paper-writing in action. A big thank you to Ε uspa and all organisers.
Hi! We have 1 wish for Christmas! That in '26 we reach 100,000 followers on @bsky.app Please help us by RTing your endorsement!
Follow us! Birds of the World is a groundbreaking resource where you can find deep ornithological content on birds, stunning multimedia, and range maps for every bird!
Nothing motivates me to read my current book more than going to the bookstore and buying 5 new books π
Oooh the lemon juice and sugar sounds delicious, why did I not think of that earlier! Thanks for the idea
Yes, correct.

Relatable!
It was highly interesting, thanks for the opportunity to participate online!

Recently, Storygraph has been suggested to me a lot, so I made an account:

Is Storygraph a thing yet in the scientific community?
I'm always looking for reading inspiration. π

Happy #macromonday!
Some Physcia and Xanthoria growing on a tree. This November I am challenging myself to take photos of organisms I wouldn't immediately think of. I'm liking it so far.

I don't know much about them, but they're very aesthetic.

This is highly interesting, unfortunately I am in the Czech Republic... Is there any possibility of joining online?
Project update & cool little milestone captured:
After all the field and lab work, I am finally holding the first photo of "visible results" in my hands.
These are the first gels of a PCR to detect parasitoids. πͺ°
I used my time in Vienna to visit the Natural History Museum with a friend. 3 hours only got us through the mineral collection and a few fossils. Very aesthetically pleasing ones:

It was a pleasure to participate in this workshop - heard interesting talks about current topics in Community Ecology, had nice discussions and presented about my current project. :-)
Thanks to @stresseddaphnia.bsky.social and everybody involved in organising!
Excited to share our new paper where we find that the rise, decline and fall of clades is not explained by the usual suspects (diversity-dependence, ecological opportunities) but rather by species' insidious loss of macroevolutionary fitness: www.nature.com/articles/s41... 1/3

Physicists have long been enamored with βbeautifulβ modelsβbut this seems to have changed in high-energy physics. In his new paper, Martin King argues that experimental contexts strongly determine the pursuitworthiness of βugly modelsβ ππ link.springer.com/article/10.1... #philsci #philphysics #HPS
