I am now on Spring Break. So I poured myself the good whiskey, and I'm not going to do ANY homework for like 2 whole days!
(I'm a nursing student. Of course there's homework over break.)

We got a Tern for bike commuting with Littlest, and Oh MAN. It's a joy. I love that it is super accomodating for multiple heights - meaning spouse and I can both use the same bike without having to transfer the kiddo's seat.
So fun.
Thank you!!!
I know that is a horribly constructed run on sentence - but sometimes that is how I express fury.
Finished filing tax forms like a responsible adult person who hates the regime and thinks itβs so fucked that her tax dollars are being used to kill kids and destroy families because the president is a racist senile pedo.
Yo - friends of mine not in Minnesota - can you send some $ for this one? Please.
I replied to one of those texts with βDo not send me texts from Al Franken if you want me to vote for Peggyβ
I have not received any more texts from Al.
This was my thought too. Letβs not exploit labor, yeah?
True Tales From my house, last night bedtime edition-
Littlest: βI not tired. I want to run. I hide!β
Parents: <spontaneous duet of βWhere the Streets Have No Nameβ>
Littlest: βThatβs a good song, Mom and Dad!β
Free market advice to Target's new CEO:
Spend those billions on:
- rent relief and housing stability in your HQs hometown communities
- providing small business grants to immigrant owners
- acknowledging your mistakes and apologizing publicly
We don't need your bullshit.
I suspect my community is actually superheroes disguised as regular people.
Iβm home on toddler care tonight. Iβll tune in on your behalf.
This is cool. For those not able to attend the Jason Isbell show tonight at the Armory, itβs being livestreamed on @thecurrent.org. And proceeds going to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota www.thecurrent.org/feature/2026...
I remember seeing a report earlier that S. Mpls had a 2 minute response time to ICE activity, compared to roughly 7 minutes elsewhere.
It is no coincidence that CM Chavez represents a large portion of S. Mpls.
IMO - he might be too busy right now to write books. It's the people he is busy saving who will be writing his name into history. What a tremendous legacy.
(I really DO hope someone writes this story though.)
I have the same feelings about whole wheat tortillas, and have no better answer either. Occam's Razor works! (But for science research, I'll keep having breakfast burritos.)
Congrats to Rep. @katiejonesmpls.bsky.social and family, who biked to the hospital last week and came back with baby Hans. Here's what she told me about the ride:
Because magic is real.
Also, I did briefly campaign for office in what feels like a different life entirely. But I suspended it to help my child survive murder-brain. That child is still alive, and I'm going to be a nurse instead of a congress person.
The way our mothers and grandmothers kept their families ALIVE through the awful moments of our history is why we are even here, now.
Care and compassion matter for families and communities to thrive, and THOSE stories need to be told, too. We have plenty of "rugged." Let's tell about love.
I think my grandma who worked as a line cook to support her family through her husband's alcoholism and my grandma who worked in a munitions factory during WW2 then raised 8 kids are MORE formative to my own story.
Anyway - if you grew up on the Iron Range of Minnesota in the 70βs and 80βs - thatβs a pretty common story.
I was the first woman on either side of my family to graduate with a university degree.
One grandpa was a vain alcoholic youngest son of rich wheat farmers. He married the middle daughter of a Finnish Lutheran minister who worked as a line cook.
The other grandpa had polio as a child, never finished high school, delivered groceries during WW2, and married a high school salutatorian.
What a beautiful dream that is!
Look- itβs gonna take an actual real deal general strike if we gonna fix this ourselves- or I dunno - the wacko end times folks will get what they want I guess
Cashmanβs loss in Ward 7 is also felt here in Ward 9. I was so sad for yβall!
I donβt usually consider myself a lifelong supporter of ANY politician - but Jason Chavez will have my vote and support for ANY office he wants to campaign for.
Deep and genuine care for all of his constituents - everyone deserves that from their elected officials.
