Great picture but from memory Larkin was not a big fan of Christmas!

We did! Really liked Ljubljana and had a wonderful day at Bled.

Is the same true of the Speckled Wood? Recently started monitoring in S.Dorset and amazed by the proliferation of these lovely butterflies.

Wandering around the streets of Trieste we came across a large photography exhibition. Turns out it was a retrospective of the wonderful work of the American photographer Steve McCurry. Really amazing work although I couldn’t help thinking about male gazes.

Fair point. But it is tempting to search his images for something more profound.

It’s probably sacrilege to say this but I’m not a fan of Larkin’s photographs. I know he was a keen photographer but having looked at those at the Hull archive I would say he was enthusiastic but not much more.
