Our family is experiencing this, my husband got laid off at his software engineering role earlier this year, things are pretty bleak if you want to work in an organization that is not actively pursuing AI.
A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

Sitting in a reclassification ceremony last week for elementary English learners in CA and purposely sat where I could keep an eye on the door/be ready to film. The possibility of ICE showing up was on the minds of everyone in attendance; parents should’ve just been able to celebrate their kids 😡
