The big problem is that there is no left wing party in the US. There's the far right Republican party and the moderate right wing Democrat party. And if you want any progressive change your options are start a civil war or suck eggs.

A lot of depression and anxiety is situational, and warranted, because people live in shit circumstances. They’re poor, without resources, etc. and the reason it’s become popular to blame “mental health” is because it’s a way of evading responsibility.

In a just world there would be war crime tribunals.
