As the U.S. shifts into a volatile political landscape targeting critical thinking, I want to share an important reminder to the #booksky community:
The only way to preserve literature is by collecting physical copies.
I know, Kindle users, it sucksβbut your digital copy can be deleted any time.
Friends, this GoFundMe is, unfortunately, legit. Canβt talk about it now, but Iβm sure posts about the absurdity of life are to come. Please share if you can. #EatonFire

At #NCTE24 this week, this is the message I'll be sharing on repeat.
4 yrs ago today, a family member managed a truly spectacular own goal, splintered his domestic bliss, & in the process, united the world for a day.
On popular request, I shall now recreate the livetweet thread from that day
So gather around children, for this is the tale of The Rice Truck Saga
I loved Drew Leclair Gets a Clue! Off to track down the second book.

If you're looking for something totally different to sink a bunch of time into, last month I found this rapper dude who hates musicals & had no idea what Hamilton was about but who is doing reaction videos to the entirety of Hamilton bit by bit. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX-k...

One of the things I love about Bluesky is the gift links feed. It is just articles people have shared as gift links.

Probably the only time I've been an early-ish joiner.
I use Passion Planner. Their customer service is not great, but every year when I look at other planners online, I still like theirs best.
(I, um, also haven't used it since July. But next week maybe?)

For other orgs, sometimes I just have to discover a conference a week too late and then sign up for their email list and/or make a note to look for it again next year.
Thanks, @kimschebler.bsky.social! I'm glad you found it helpful.
Day 1 of #ACESVCon23 was filled with so many wonderful sessions, so I'm glad replays will be available to catch the ones I missed. Also happy for the positive feedback I've gotten for my session. Thanks, everyone! π
