イランの人々と連帯しながら、イランのファシストクソ政権に対しても、米国とイスラエルによるイランへの攻撃に対しても、同時に抗議することができる。多くのイラン人が、後者の方がまだましな未来をもたらすかもしれないと感じずにはいられない気持ちは理解できる。しかし、アフガニスタン、イラク、リビアのことを思うと、わたしはそう簡単には同意できない。いずれにせよ、どの帝国が行うものであれ、侵略は人々に何ももたらさない。

I just visited Okinawa, where most of the U.S. military bases in Japan are concentrated. With the war on Iran by the U.S. and Israel on my mind, I find myself thinking about all the people I met there.

沖縄は日本という国家によってずっと構造的な差別に晒されている。この島で、島々で、どのように暮らしていきたいのかという問いを、その構造が外部から歪め、分断をうみ、搾取を続けている。だから、まずその構造的差別を解消しなければならない。それは、この国家の中央・都市に近いほうに暮らし日本国籍を持つわれわれの問題だと思う。
