I did not think this would happen, but I am overjoyed it did.
Yeah, with plastic minis if you screw up super badly, just put them in a sealed glass container of isopropyl alcohol to strip them clean. That said, if you thin your paints with a little water and take your time, you'll be okay and likely won't need to!
Sons of the Phoenix are a real "labour of love" chapter for sure! Took me years to get 2000 points done, but they're SO COOL! 😂

Took me months to paint this birthday present from my partner. Very tough minis to paint in Sons of the Phoenix colours because of all the straps and things with notoriously difficult white armour! Still, excited to add a little mobility to my army, jump packs are rad!

Been really busy cleaning and doing up the new house, but I try to do a little mini painting to relax here and there. The Wight King is a pretty old sculpt, lacking a god photogenic angle, but has great classic Warhammer vibes.

Pretty funny that women and queer folk didn't ruin gaming after all, it was tech bros buying up all the RAM so nobody can afford a decent rig and Epstein going, "psst! Activision, you should charge kids microtransactions."
Yeah, the narrative of corruption in games journalism, a legit issue (but much more about corporate bribery than women giving intimate favours) really gave a handy cover for people who wanted to vent all their baggage about women. Must have been a horrible time to be a decent guy.
YES, actually, lads, the misogyny WAS systemic. It was literally organised, and worse, it was part of a wider conspiracy against women, girls and queer people. I wasn't just imagining the industry was against me, or that backlash against diverse and progressive games seemed manufactured.
Now that we're seeing the links between gamergate and Epstein's misogynist, patriarchal network, every well-meaning guy who got duped into supporting it really needs to apologise to every woman (including Trans women!) who works in games who got told they were "overreacting".

The new Custodes minis look awesome. They have such poise and elegance now. I'd never really liked Custodes, and had always thought even if they added femme options, I'd be happy, but still not interested in the faction but now... oh no, they look cool! 😆

Or that has the elegance and unified mechanics of FATE but with enough specificity that it doesn’t start to feel like a game of make believe where mechanics don't matter... but talking about making an RPG is much easier than making one haha...
I would love to make a game that tries to get the really cool sense of player agency and motivation of Exalted... without the ludicrously over complicated combat mechanics and single setting locked into the gameplay yet underdetailed in the books.
Just to be clear though: There is no single 100% perfect TTRPG. They all do some things better than others. They are *extremely* hard to design well. It's also waaay easier to analyse and critique them than build them! 😅
