the death of a fun fact is so sad i valiantly struggle against all odds to remember that it IS a very fun fact that cats and bunnies mutually groom but i must struggle against the odds of seeing it posted as new information 90000 times a day
when he says "metaphorical IS textual"..... i could kiss him (metaphorically).
just lots of bitching about how audiences dismiss symbolism and metaphor in favor of literal plot events too often. don't even bother reading these just watch the video i linked it's better

i know im always beating a dead horse about this. in fact, i won't beat it again. i'll just post other times i beat it. this video gets at what im always trying to express when im on some kinda tear about the value of symbolism and metaphor.
btw, one of the best things about watching the film adaptation of Annihilation was it led me to this video. i think all consumers of media should watch this video. you don't have to have watched Annihilation to get the message i think though it does contain spoilers www.youtube.com/watch?v=URo6...
i watched the film adaptation (also great, in a different way from the books) and read the first novel some time ago, and assumed the film only concerns itself with book 1. so it's also been cool to discover that it actually pulled in a good amount from book 2 (and 3.. ?? we'll find out) too!
actually i have a singular intelligent thought about El Chorizo, being that heβs an outdoor cat my knee jerk response was βdude, hasnβt this particular slice of Florida already undergone enough environmental change?β before realizing perhaps that is the point
anyway too much keeps happening to distract me from the books iβm
trying to read. very close to decimating Authority. in lieu of anything smart iβd like to say that the govt-appointed spy director of the Southern Reach having a cat named El Chorizo that he calls Chorry Chorrykins is gap moe of him
and i get it the site needs to make money. i can turn somewhat of a blind eye to the new premium-shilling links on every page. but why you have to sand down the weird stuff that makes it shine to accomplish this? this is too dumb to bitch about on main but neopets was such a survivor. hate to see it
like i just donβt get it. no one was bugging them to make Content for fucking gadgadsbogen. it was just a weird little annual holiday with a few passive perks attached. nothing you have to keep up with, just some fun weird flavor that fills out the bizarre worle. thatβs what i LIKE about neopets
i took a year off neopets to play TCG pocket and coming back i feel pretty sad about where the site is now and not wanting to continue playing much :( today is gadgadsbogen and i was so confused why there was nothing for it on the site. they removed the holiday (???) to prioritize site income (???)
There should be an Earth for people who don't hate all living things
chobits and Evil Chobits (sorry i never read it)

i think a good full time job for me would be if some mysterious entity paid me to draw chloe and clair like those classic CLAMP illustrations all day
when i think of the amount i'm able to do in HFHH in a single year for completely free, on my own, with no help from anyone, so that i can provide it, also for free, twice a week on average, it does make me wish more story-hungry people were willing to read as well as watch
i think the average person would be shocked to find out what the monetary and time expense is to create even 11 minutes of animation. episodes (expensive) are layered in a pipeline so you can do multiple at onceβbut that requires a full paid crew and each episode still takes ~a year to complete
it was even better this time
oops i accidentally read all of Kasane again
editorializing on my thumbnails lately
iβm also not willing to compromise my time at the expense of new comics so i have to find a way to do it alongside continuing my 100 updates a year streak. iβm trying to schedule for it, weβll see how that pans outβ¦
itβs something iβm vaguely planning for at this point. i would like to release the first 500 comics in two volumes. self marketing isnβt my natural strength though i would need to gather everything in my resolve to make a kickstarter lmao
seems like any time something is good, the ultimate compliment from well meaning fans is βthis should get an indie pilot! iβd watch this as a show!β which, maybe iβm the odd one out in thinking itβd be more of a compliment to enjoy it as it currently exists, as good enough already.
animation is actually pretty limiting to get into because it is so expensive and time consuming to produce. if you care about an auteur vision (which not all works have to be ofc) animation doesnβt allow fully for that. and you have major time constraints on a story when youβre animating it too.
as someone who loves animation with all my heart, enough to pursue the borderline crazy choice of making it my career: iβm actually pretty sick of everyone always acting like the final form of any idea should be animation. sometimes a comic or prose or illustration series is already in its best form
all i want is to live in enough peace to make art and for everyone else to live in enough peace to enjoy art
just gonna reimode with gauze + medical tape for awhile. it's a fashion statement. i can't help being a gainax girl
fucked up and gave myself an accidental gnarly steam burn right after midnight so great 1st bday present to me from me
i need to weed through my icloud shit and decide what is and isn't actually important to be on there and manage accordingly, but that goes under "actually thinking about it, so bored i'm comatose"
currently have a daily time machine backup to a local external + manual backups to the same external (when i remember to manually back up. every couple months or so) + both iCloud and local storage for main files. so im unlikely to lose anything. but iCloud is filling up &i dont wanna pay to upgrade
both i guess. the problem is that im deathly afraid of losing anything, but im so incredibly bored by thinking about the logistics of preventing it, that i just slap a bunch of precautions together and don't think about how it could be more streamlined/efficient
sitting like what
