Over 1000 civilians dead, and we're letting Trump use UK bases to further his war.

Britain should stand firm against Trump's illegal warmongering, and stop these bombers landing on UK soil.

Iv been following Alex's progress making this over the last few years, Its a real labour of love and such an impressive achievement from basically a solo dev. If you are into basebuilders but also like a story to accompany you then go check it out!

Gas is making energy more expensive again. Get solar panels, battery (even a small one), and ditch your gas supply if you can.

It's not the future it's here right now, trust me, I'm just missing the battery part.

Fossil fuels are the problem.

Energy insecurity. Higher bills. Exposure to catastrophic economic consequences of Trump's wars.

That's what happens when you fail to shift fast enough to renewables, and cut back on support for clean energy.

Let's cut bills & create jobs through a clean power revolution.

I wish, but that's why I don't use them, they're just companies. Whereas with the national broadcaster being the BBC it's also associated with the country... then we're deeply into the issues like shielding Saville, platforming Farage constantly, government interference, etc. they're not a company

I'll delete the post this was replying too because it seems I'm now wrong!

2003: Iraq invaded for BS reason.
2004 - 2013: Destabilisation of Middle East as a result of Iraq invasion.
2013 onward: Mass migration from Middle East to Europe as people flee instability.

USA: "Wow, you guys sure have a migrant problem."

2026: Iran attacked for BS reason.

It's pretty simple dude, the UK TV licence is now required by law if you ever watch any live video stream in the UK. Even just once in a year.

It's massive overreach, and with so many other problems it's clear that it's deliberate to pay for the massive cuts governments have made.

We used to ship games where they were finished. I do like being able to patch bugs etc, and deliver extra content, and I have caused a day zero bug and subsequent patch myself 🀣

But shipping something you literally haven't even finished yet is such corporate bullshit

06.03.2026 13:03 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I think that I loved the BBC, but it's not what it was, and the licence fee has become almost immoral in it's enforcement and spread.

With major changes I'd still support it but I can't personally bring myself to care if it didn't exist anymore

A screen grab from the Guardian showing US Pastors praying with Trump in the Oval Office. Amazingly none of them immediately bursts in to flames.

Text: Video: Pastors pray for Trump and US success in Iran war
In case you missed it, evangelical leaders gathered around Donald Trump in the Oval Office last night and prayed over him and for the US’s success in the war against Iran.

It comes after reports that US personnel have allegedly been told by a commander that Trump β€œhas been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth”, according to a religious freedom group that is dealing with complaints over this from service members.

On the same day of that report, US defence secretary Pete Hegseth, who is known for his embrace of Christian nationalism, described Iran as a β€œcrazy regime” that is β€œhell-bent on prophetic Islamist delusions”.

Biggest hurdles for the heat pump were the process, which full time employed, with ADHD (& possible Autism), was mentally demanding.

Planning applications were tough & got rejected once due to noise concerns. This is a mid terraced house.

Installation was messy, exacerbated by water company issues

06.03.2026 10:19 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Also I next got rid of the gas hob, and replaced it with induction which is brilliant. So I could get the gas fully disconnected.

Electric only house with (old) solar system now. There's things I'd like to do, improve/upgrade the solar, get a battery capable of doing UPS grid gateway etc.

Dear Shabana,
I notice today that you referred to me in your speech on immigration at the IPPR think tank.
You said: β€œA party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to
make a perilous crossing on small boats.”
I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton
and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government
who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division.
When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there
to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done
in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the
flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney.
As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking
points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I
filled water tanks and picked up litter.
What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop
the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country.
Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it.
It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping
migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and
croissants to refugees and food parcels.
When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. She
said β€œwe have to work with our European partners and create new, safe, and legal routes for
refugees to get to Europe. We cannot abandon them to their fate, left as prey for smugglers
whilst risking death on the seas.”
She said β€œmaybe we can make ourselves feel better by saying no-one is making them get on
the boats. And again, the Home Secretary is not entirely wrong when …

Dear Shabana,

Let's clear some things up around migration and remember we're talking about people's lives.

I should probs talk about getting my heat pump but the short version is: it just works.

Installation was a pain, much more so than a boiler, and there's more space taken up.

Ended up being cheaper than a boiler due to the upgrade scheme. Planning was tricky.

I'm happy with mine

I'm delighted with my heat pump.

But my experience getting it installed taught me what’s been stopping many more people from getting one (so far).

I wrote for @politicshome.bsky.social on the hurdles that government needs to think about as it implements the Warm Homes Plan. πŸ‘‡
