โCompletely shattered.โ Changes to NSFโs graduate student fellowship spur outcry
The announcement comes months later than usual, leaving many would-be applicants stranded
Today was a hard day for Ph.D. students who found out that they can no longer apply for NSF's prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship Program. "Devastatingโ was how one student described it to me. #GradSchool #NSFGRFP

Screenshot of NIMH BRAINS funding opportunity. The expiration date is now before the next application due date.
NIH moved up the expiration date for some funding opportunities, effectively *canceling* the next application date without removing it from the standard table. I can't even imagine how many people are still prepping these grants.

Host a teach in. Share science with your community....protest style! Calling back to the teach ins of 1965, we are taking to parks, pubs, & churches to tell our neighborhoods about how the budget cuts will impact them.
Our goal is to have 1000 SUFS Teach Ins across the US, by 9/30.
*GASP* ๐ฎ
We know, it's a big goal.
If you've received tax dollars for your science, you have a responsibility to inform *your* community what is at stake: public health, the economy, innovation, and America's global leadership.

Here #theonlylabever reports how a gut protozoan commensal shapes pulmonary immunity to exacerbate asthma and limit the dissemination of mycobacteria.
