We've spoken to her about this and other transportation issues. This is exactly why we need to be at events like these, because if we're not speaking to her or her constituents, then the anti-bus/bike folks will.

It's so clear that in places like these the bike lane is being used as snow storage. And then they wonder why people chose not to bike in the winter.

Taylor had moved to Worcester, Massachusetts early in his life and there are still numerous memorials in his honor including Major Taylor Boulevard.

Throughout his career, Tayor won numerous races, and established seven world records. He achieved all of this in spite of harsh racial discrimination. He was banned from races, clubs, and even attacked during races, but his perseverance made him an icon to Black athletes from his time to today.

Marshall Walter β€œMajor” Taylor was a track and race cyclist born in 1878. It was clear that Taylor was an incredibly gifted cyclist when he won his first race at the age of 12. His extraordinary speed and athletic ability earned him the nickname β€œWorld’s Fastest Man.”

It was shocking to see in Allston how the city just abandoned people who bike. I don't understand a city that invests in a green and burgeoning mode of transportation that people rely on year round but gives up

I would like an apology from @wutrain.bsky.social & Nick Gove and a pledge to do better

Are you annoyed by Boston's snow covered bike lanes?

It's now been well over a week since Boston's snowstorm, and yet most protected bike lanes are unusable because of the snow.

Help us shovel Commonwealth Ave's PBLs and show that this work is an urgent need!

IF THE CITY WON'T, WE WILL! Help shovel Commonwealth Ave with the BCU In the weeks following record snowfall in Boston, several protected bike lanes have remained entirely impassable despite 311 requests and direct notifications. When protected lanes are not cleared, people are forced into traffic or prevented from traveling safely at all. This creates immediate and avoidable safety risks, particularly on Commonwealth Ave, where students and residents from Allston, Brighton, and Brookline commute daily, making it one of the highest bike traffic corridors in the city. To reduce the risk of injury, BCU is organizing a small, time-limited effort to clear snow and ice from one priority corridor while continuing to press the City for consistent, systemic maintenance. This action is intended not a substitute for the City’s responsibility to maintain public infrastructure, but as a reminder to them that this is desperately needed. We are inviting partners who are able to: Volunteer time to help shovel and clear the lane, and/or Assist with documenting the conditions and the work (photos or short videos) We will provide clear guidance on safety, messaging, and coordination so the effort remains focused, disciplined, and aligned with shared values around public safety and accountability. We will be meeting at 3pm at Babcock and Commonwealth Ave and start moving eastward. We will conclude our shoveling at 7pm. We appreciate your continued partnership and shared commitment to safer, more reliable streets for everyone who bikes in Bostonβ€”year-round. In solidarity, Tiffany Cogell Boston Cyclists Union
