I have stepped away from all social media for the past months. It was too depressing. I needed a break.
I did turn on CNN once daily just to see if there was an obituary.
I will be sitting on the sidelines of Bluesky, reading posts to see.if things have changed.

It would only take less than 2 dozen people to change the pathway the U.S. is running toward. 24 Republican members of Congress. 24 people who swore an oath to protect your freedom.
I don't know if the U.S. can survive until midterms. The rate of decline is so steep.

24 years ago the world stood still. Our skies grew quite. We stared at TV's in disbelief. Heroes died doing what they do. Innocent people perished for no good reason.
We all cried.
Countries united in one resolve.
Never forget what hate can do.

This is just my take, sitting here in Canada watching U. S. struggle.
#1 All the commotion is distraction from the "plan".
#2 quietly, the Administration is taking on more power/authority through Executive Orders to see how far they can go with them to control people.

I have tried to observe what is going on in the U.S. from different perspective, not leaning left or right.
The Kennedy hearings, troops in cities, detentions are all designed to make NEWS NOT about TRUMP!
It is all distraction. FOCUS!

From the United States Holocaust Museum, the comparison to today is at best scary, at worst terminal.

I am saddened that the relationship is over. Canada will be even better, more diverse, less reliant on U.S. economy and much stronger.

Trump's Greatest POSITIVE Accomplishment is the establishment of Operation Warp Speed which created a vaccine in record time. Millions saved!
His Greatest NEGATIVE Accomplishment is Nay saying the vaccine and many died needlessly and now canceling mRNA research.
He couldn't let science win.
My assessment was based on their nonchalant press conference. Neither expressed outrage or any level of discontent.
I expected a strong rebuke. It wasn't there.
This is as close to a Martial Law Declaration as you get w/o crossing the line.

I once looked up to the U.S. and was proud to be a neighbor and friend. I looked forward to trips to U.S.. We welcomed our American friends that came to Canada.

Being retired and never getting a "day off" can be tough! Every day I turn on a NEWS channel in anticipation of a scrolling NEWS flash of an orange turd being flushed, sadly, another day of stupidity.

Spent the week day tripping around Southern Ontario. We do have beautiful surroundings and lots to see and do. I had sort of lost sight of that fact.
It was nice to see so many people out socializing. We may have eliminated covid anti-socialism!

I haven't been posting due to passing of my father-in-law and all the things associated, diagnosis, Hospice, passing, funeral home, notifications, preparation, funeral, internment, will, banks and now LAWYERS.
A learning experience for sure.

I HONESTLY hate to admit it but this is true. For my entire life (75yrs) I have thought of U.S.A. as our "neighbors " and friends. We routinely traveled to "The States", but NO MORE!
REGRETTABLY, I find myself thinking "go home" everytime I see a U.S. license plate.
You hate US, We DON'T need U.S.
I do not think normal, sane Americans hate Canada. The elected government make it clear Canada is an adversary AND Canadians are not welcome.
Daily we hear of how Canadians are mistreated by Immigration and the public.
I know these are isolated and not the norm. I am not willing to take the risk.
