Heh, the leatherback and caiman croc family were also beach sightings. I also came upon a small (poisonous?) coral snake on one memorable occasion. As a kid, beach trips often felt like wildlife expeditions. *g* (Reminds me of surprise encounters from Building Steve's "friends" over the years lol)

Heh, yeah. I grew up with them being strewn all over the beach during March-April, so we know to keep our distance, or stay out of the water at certain times of year.
