Hey I did a fun thing with @warren.senate.gov about breaking up giant healthcare conglomerates
A closeup of two serious looking cats, litter mates, sitting side by side, loaf style, at the edge of a desk. The photo is taken from below, giving them an air of authority. On the left is tabby cat Joe, looking stern. On the right is Frankie, tabby striped on his back and forehead, mostly white in front, with a Christmas tree shaped splotch on his nose. Frankie is managing to look even more serious than Joe. An intimidating pair. #CatsOfBlueSky
Whelp. I've been called before the committee. Again.
This area went from 30F weather to 70F weather overnight and skipped what would have been really nice days.
Albert Pujols in manager glasses
Nothing has hammered home that Iβm in my mid-to-late 30s quite like seeing Manager Glasses Albert Pujols.
Hard to beat the sound of a stadium spontaneously in full song.

ITβS HAPPENING!!!
25-35 minutes to go about 2 miles on transit from Rosemont to Allstate Arena
Let's build a big stadium right near the Blue Line and make it impossible to get to.
β₯οΈAnd that's why Alysa Liu is Oakland royalty. In 2026 in the face of rising racism, fascism, and misogyny, a woman that speaks comfortably about Black Lives Matter, Stop Asian Hate, and Abolish ICE
Gold medal is cool and all, but do you have your own stank face mural of you flexing that gold medal?
I love Geordi, but he never chillaxes to more than a medium level
I need a separate timer for people who are *technically* asking a question but they have to monologue for a few minutes before they get to the question

I am in the middle of Children of Time. It is a fantastic tale. Only a talented bard can make a story about space spiders human.
The Lower Peninsula had "Say Yes to Michigan." The Upper Peninsula had this slogan.
gallery of 9 satellite images from 3 January 2025 to 1 March 2026 showing A23a iceberg becoming smaller and smaller as smaller icebergs break away, and melt ponds appear on the surface.
Weβve tracked A23a iceberg for a while now, but this is our last story about it!
Once the worldβs biggest (2x the size of Greater London), it drifted north up to 47ΒΊN where warmer waters and seas broke it into smaller bergs, ending up as the worldβs largest pool as melt ponds formed on its surface.
What if we demolish old buildings with deferred maintenance 50 feet from a Metra station entrance and then leave them as empty lots for decades?
Itβs ok to demolish old buildings with deferred maintenance to build new housing.
Just two dudes getting groceries in their appropriately sized trucks.
Screenshot of Sesame Street with Elmo in a Brooklyn brownstone type building
I like how Sesame Street represents the dense, walkable urbanism of NYC.
Hard to imagine any of it happening along a suburban stroad.
Big thank you to everybody who did more than the legally required minimum of shoveling this year, just to help out your neighbors. I see you. You are awesome.

I was so sad to see a Google Street View of my city from 2020 where there were several streeteries. All gone now despite being legalized.
People want larger, smoother, more accessible urban infrastructure, but you have to remove the threat and obstruction of cars.
It is impossible to declare one Simpsons bit as "the best", it's folly, a fool's errand.
That being said, the best Simpsons bit is "Planet of the Apes: the Musical"
"Valley of the Moon" by Remedios Varo depicts an enchanting, surreal landscape with mystical animals bathed in ethereal moonlight, surrounded by jagged mountains in the background. The artwork showcases Varo's distinct style, merging elements of mysticism and dreamlike imagery to evoke a sense of otherworldly tranquility.

Three years in this office and finally put up the whiteboards. π
there was a time we had the magic
During COVID, cities successfully reallocated street space from cars to people. We proved it works.
Itβs frustrating how quickly those changes vanished, restoring the oppressive status quo where cars dominate and people are pushed back to the margins.
Chicago river at wolf point. The river water north is very brown. The branch from the lake has blue green water. They don't seem to be mixing.
Lake water and river water meet at wolf point.
Yup, this is actively happening to every PI I know.
