Well, my mum has now become a war refugee at the age of 78, I guess! She is fleeing Tehran with friends to a city 1000 kms away. After years of living in the UK, Switzerland, and the US, she decided to go back to Iran a few years ago, & now she is displaced from her hometown, thanks to T-rump!

Heavy shelling of the Mehrabad Airport in west of Tehran. Other videos show very extensive destruction. This is Tehran’s former international airport which is now used for some domestic & Hajj flights. Heavy population centers immediately to its north & west.

What Is Actually in the Epstein Files?
The heavily redacted trove of documents is shocking, disorienting, and—most important—incomplete.
In this special “Galaxy Brain” episode, @cwarzel.bsky.social is joined by @isaacstanleybecker.bsky.social and @adriennelaf.bsky.social to talk about the newly released Epstein files. They share their findings, address the political fallout, and explore what—if anything—can be learned:

It's all bad but hadn't seen the bit where Farage says:
"The European Union is the prototype for the New World Order."
That is a seriously, deeply problematic term that taps into Illuminati and antisemitic conspiracy theories.
How the fuck did this man direct the course of our politics?

Tom Stoppard, playwright of dazzling wit and playful erudition, dies aged 88
A theatrical sensation since the 1960s, whose dramas included Arcadia, The Real Thing and Leopoldstadt, Stoppard also had huge success as a screenwriter
The playwright Tom Stoppard, whose playful erudition dazzled the theatregoing world for decades, has died aged 88.
One of a select band of writers from any discipline to earn his own adjective – “Stoppardian” – in the Oxford English Dictionary, he delighted in the most improbable juxtapositions: philosophy and gymnastics in Jumpers (1972); early 19th-century landscape gardening and chaos theory in Arcadia (1993); rock music, dissident Czech academics and the love poetry of Sappho in Rock ’n’ Roll (2006). Shapiro: Trump sits behind his desk in the Oval Office every day bullshitting the American people. But when the American people show up at the grocery store, it doesn’t matter how much they were listening to Trump — they see the prices, and they see those prices going up.

Should Gibb be sacked? yes, obviously. He's an abomination of basic journalistic standards. His GB News channel spreads conspiracy theory & disinformation. His Jewish Chronicle newspaper spreads invented stories. He is plainly trying to undermine the BBC so it's as bad as everything else he touches.

Why the BBC Is Facing Its Gravest Crisis in Decades
The BBC’s core problem is that, like the NHS, it models the benefits and virtues of a not-for-profit public service in a world of rapacious corporate greed and unstinting right-wing hostility to the idea of the public good www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/w...

Voters want a Democratic Party that fights back against the forces that have rigged the system and made their lives more difficult.
A party that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable —not a party that buckles and capitulates.
When will party leadership learn this lesson?
