The Kingdom of Pages: The Wandering Watchers by @michellemohrweis.bsky.social. Illustrated by Dante Gabriel Hookey

Samara and Cleo accidentally cause the famous adventures The Wandering Watches to fall into a trap. They must find a way to save them, but they can't do it alone.

They are so cute! We get a lot of wind here, so I used flowerpots filled with concrete to hold down the shade cover and then put gravel on top to make it look nicer, but it still looked so plain. So when I saw the dragons, I couldn’t resist.

My favorite part about the outdoor patio space I built has definitely got to be the little dragons I used to decorate the concrete and gravel filled planters that hold down the shade cover. They are just so cute! 

That one with the gold/blue art on the ceiling looks incredible!

Yeah! I am super excited about them! They come out in the UK in September, and in the US in early December!

That said, Cleo being nonbinary isn’t really a plot point or anything, except that they happen to be nonbinary, but it was still fun to write an enby character going on adventures! 😊

It’s very subtle nonbinary rep, but yep! The Kingdom of Pages books have a nonbinary main character! They are young reader, books designed for like small group reading at schools being published through Collins Big Cat in the UK.

I got my author copies for the KINGDOM OF PAGES books this week, and look how pretty they are! Also, my display for books I wrote is starting to completely fill that shelf! 🥹

Doing some work and writing outdoors today, and my dogs are hanging out with me. 

I have watched my little fluffy dog try to catch a fly three times now, then get utterly startled and shocked each time when the fly actually flies away. 🤣

Should I be writing? Probably.

Am I instead using every spare moment to build a retaining wall so I can build a patio so I can set up an outdoor writing space in my backyard, but I messed up leveling the retaining wall so now I must rebuild it? Yes. Yes I am.

At least my dogs are helping!

📚Search through their following list for any other authors/readers/writers that I know. Follow them too.

Thinking about how I have legit developed a strategy for how to find my author/writer peeps every time we move to a new social media… on the one hand, I’m proud of becoming so efficient at this. On the other hand, here’s hoping I don’t have to keep doing it.
