As a someone with a 33 year NIH-funded lab whose grant is supposed to be reviewed this week, shut NIH down if that is what's needed to end ICE terrorism. Innocent lives are more important πŸ§ͺ

The value of publishing negative data - News Scientific journals love news-worthy results. Editors want to publish studies with novel data that scientists will eagerly read and cite in their own work. Because of this desire for novelty, studies ...

Since I joined @lsajournal.org I have handled several stellar manuscripts that report null results. These papers do very well and reviewers almost always appreciate them!

Enzyme-free approach gently detaches cells from culture surfaces Anchorage-dependent cells are cells that require physical attachment to a solid surface, such as a culture dish, to survive, grow, and reproduce.

A new enzyme-free technique uses alternating electrochemical currents to gently detach cells from culture surfaces, maintaining high cell viability and reducing waste in biomanufacturing processes. doi.org/hbbs27

that time of the year... writing letters for 8 UG's applying to grad school, each of them to ~15 programs. And while I passionately support every one of them, thats A LOT of letters, a lot of web sites to keep track of, a lot of my time. Why dont Grad programs use interfolio? One and done???

Dear Director Bhattacharya:

I listened to more of your conversation with Glenn Beck. You made a number of statements that are false and misleading. You have considerable responsibilities in your current position and need to live up to them.

You dismiss critics of President Trump's comments at the press conference by saying:

"I think the key point here is something called "Trump Derangement Syndrome".

Dear Director Bhattacharya:

I attended the NIAID Council meeting online. I wanted to raise two points. First, I was disappointed that you sent a video of your presentation rather than showing up in person or, at least, attending live but virtually. You are missing out on important opportunities to interact with NIH staff and Advisory Council members. These individuals use their expertise and considerable time and energy to try to further the NIH mission. In addition, you are sending a signal about your priorities. This is especially true when you spend your time by appearing on The Glenn Show within a day. I realize that it was important to try to clean up the mess made primarily by President Trump at your press conference when he said repeatedly "Don't Take Tylenol!".
