Crazy how you'll sit down and try to think of a story and feel like you never ever will, and then you make a random list of concepts such as"Beowulf weregilds" and "7-dimensional weaving," and then you suddenly think of a story that has nothing to do with any of that at all.

Every novel in the past five years has the same ending: all the characters turn out to be aspects of the same person, who is in turn a sliver of the subconsciousness of a cosmic mollusk.
ENOUGH.
Not every novel needs the gestalt cosmic mollusk ending. I'm sick of the obligatory dreamslimetrail.

Kind of crazy that I can just sit down at my desk with a pot of tea, tell my brain to think of a story, agonize for 30 mins while I look over everything I've ever written, check social media, decide to work on something else, agonize some more, and then a story miraculously appears in my brain. 🤷
