Guess, to be fair, I'd never worn glasses before and only found out in recent years I need them... I didn't know you were supposed to easily be able to read signs from a distance until recently...

These days, you'll lose followers if you make a weird noise when sneezing. If people are going to dislike you for things they make up in their own heads for confirmation bias or having compassion and human decency, you might as well just be yourself 100% and let their nonsense reflect on them.

I tore up and burned art pieces throughout my teen years and regret that now as an adult. But all that was internal.
It took over a decade to be happy with my art.
I want friends who won't tear life-long effort down to bring themselves up anymore.

Insult their own work in order to compliment others/get mad if you don't know what to say
Only engage via criticism even if they can't show how they do it themselves
or
Insist they don't need to learn/are the best

I actually was working on their full body and outfit designs when my fiancé first confessed to having feelings for me.

Just... don't pay attention to their legs. I thought that was normal for most of my life-

Still so sad I missed Nashi's lil side hair fwips high up on her head in the big piece, honestly. 😭

I know the background is kind of... uh... generic leaning? She was just a headshot at first and so I dressed it up after the fact for practice, and she liked it.

Reposting old (and deleted cause it was on the hell-site first) commission. This is one of... 7 versions, I believe, of the same piece? But, it's the "main" version with others just having minor outfit adjustments.
She was a lot of fun to work on, and I learned a lot in the process.

It's already past Valentine's Day, but-

Old drawing of my girl Nashi and my fiancé's girl Fiadh

They never got to smooch in game, but, they were rivals to lovers in concept and I will force this ship to sail regardless of dead timelines

Can't believe I forgot to share this doodle of my lovely little baby bat (vampire, not goth)

Anyway, she's cozy and cute. It's fun doodling my characters so loosely with no heavy commitment to it being anything more than a fun doodle, sometimes. Better for my perfectionism issue long term.

To be fair to myself- it's not a waste of effort or time or anything.
I learned a fuck ton from working on her and putting that time and effort in. Could it have been spent better? Maybe, sure, but I won't judge that.
I grew as an artist from that, and that's what I'll take forward instead.

Alright, I guess I'm gonna yap more, now, and also work more on drawings and stuff. Time to dig myself out of this depression rut and make things to make myself happy again.

Aka, I'm throwing out the original piece I put 80+ hours into and starting from scratch for the sake of my mental health.

Downside:
I woke up after sleeping 16 hours because I kept waking up and then going back to sleep without realizing it.
I pulled a muscle and can't stand up straight now. I'm stuck half way bent over to one side like ╭ "wee"

Upside:
I had a damn good grilled cheese.

Smug elf's back, by the way. She has a 20 in strength and using a maul that fires explosive canon balls, so... She kinda has to be ripped and this totally isn't me just wanting to draw ripped women and using her as practice/excuse.

Gonna be redoing her hair. It's not wild enough and too much of her eyes are covered for my liking, since people (and me) have stronger reactions to her without the bangs in her face.
