βthe thinker of tender thoughtsβ by shel silverstein [an illustration depicting a boy growing into a man. as he grows, his hair grows out as flowers. people laugh at him for it and he becomes sad. he starts trimming off the flowers, but as he reaches the last one he stops. he is then depicted with a smile and a flower in his buttonhole on his jacket.]

Between Shel Silverstein and Bill Watterson, I attribute a lot of my worldview to the art I consumed as a child
The way they represented curiosity about the world, and empathy for all things in it, were really influential on me and I'm super grateful for their work
i think that one of the things that nobody in the mainstream talks about (yes i know we complain about it on here all the time if you think this is the mainstream oh boy) is how successfully politicians have divested themselves of any responsibility for anything at all
So according to the WSJ a US Senator conspired with another country to manipulate the US into starting a war, am I getting this right
Pete Hegsethβs flat hand at an angle in front of Trumpβs resting glitch face.
The Trump presidency in one image.
What pisses me off more than I'd like to admit is that Hegseth is too stupid/drunk/both to realize just how pathetic and weak he sounds when he thinks he's being cool and badass. It's not fair. There should be like a drug we could give him to make him self-aware and cringe until he shits himself.
πππ Always support organized labor
Good for (what sounded like the majority) the fans in the house cheering; shame on those booing
With a CBA deal still pending, Lexington and Louisville begin the season with a minute-long moment of stillness.
the real 5-D uno move is releasing more Epstein files, to distract from the crashing economy, which resulted from the war we started in part to distract from the Epstein files
It's really a masterful gambit
@trackaipac.com curious about my rep @vargas.house.gov after this vote
newrepublic.com/post/207425/...
@vargas.house.gov shame on you for this; a betrayal of your constituents and it calls into question your integrity
The constitution is not unclear about this but you choose to ignore it. We don't forget this

Can't blame em, have to work tomorrow
I turned off the tv after the third; at some point it's just masochistic to stick around
For the first time, I'm actually feeling more likely than not that we go down
If you're at the airport and Kristi Noem is doing the ominous little message from the TSA screens, you no longer have to do anything she says. Leave your laptop in the case, whatever.
Genuinely love the idea of someone with her fight as AG in the next admin because we will need to go scorched earth, genuinely. Finish what Sherman didn't in his march to the sea
Her background as a criminal defense attorney could give her a unique perspective on the way these ghouls operate, too
theyre just all so fucking stupid and we were told we had to be respectful and treat their stupid fucking opinions seriously even though we knew its all bull shit and now here we are
Democrats, Liberals.
There are no more swing voters. There are no more undecided. These so called centrists you're chasing are just people lying about being conservative. They always immediately rush to the defense of Republicans.
They are NEVER going to vote for you.
Let me guess, wealthy people who moved to Dubai to avoid paying taxes now want the countries they moved from to protect them?
Sorry been super busy all day and haven't checked this site, but I'm glad you got an answer π
The political discourse on this website is genuinely unhinged; it's nearly as bad as Xitter but tankie-style
I'm like, a pretty left learning person, and even I am totally blown away by what I read on here daily
In 2014, we sat in the Bill Nicholson suite at White Hart Lane for the first time and the Proud Lilywhites came alive. We were always here, but now visible to the wider community.
While so much has changed over the last 12 years, one thing has remained a constant, and that is the Proud Lilywhites π€
"oh god, what do I say to get you hogs to vote for me? I'll do anything, I don't have any underlying beliefs or principles whatsoever"
This, right here, is the underlying problem with the modern leadership of the Dems
Progressive v. Moderate, whatever, I have my preferences but I can compromise.
What's hard is believing in someone who doesn't actually believe in anything
People are always like whatβs something you miss from the past and one of mine is antitrust laws

The real question, is it "gif" or "gif"
That's genuinely funny, I guess I have no reason to think that most people read it the way I do tbh
"an FAQ"
Readability always comes first for me when writing, and a reader will, 999/1000 times, read that phonetically as "EFF-AYY-QUEUE" so in this case, 'an' is best
It's similar to how it's still "an honor" despite 'honor' beginning with a consonant, it's about the sound ultimately
