π‘ Signal blasting for new followers: I wanna do a lil intro abt ROMchip: A Journal of Game Histories @romchip.bsky.social b/c we got an important fundraiser coming up in a few weeks.
It's a free, open-access journal dedicated to game history, and if you love games, here's why you should care πΉοΈπ²ππ―
Just got my eldest a regular bank account, with me as co-account manager. We can manage it completely from my banking app. No fees, no minimums. I have an automatic transfer set up for her allowance. It's a bit comical to transfer $5, but it works and there are no fees.
I can be persuaded to believe in many things, but the concept of FIFA experiencing embarrassment is not one of them
Miles Morales is a great Christmas game btw. If you've played it before you can blast through the main story in 8-9 hours and there's decorations and snow through the whole thing. Also it's really sweet, it's about loving and protecting your community.
John McClane and Bowser Hotwheels
Didnβt take that long
Die Hard on a TV and a box of Bowserβs Castle Hotwheels Raceway
Santaβs Workshop is open for business. Merry Christmas!
My all time favorite album. Also, has there been a Duke biopic?!
My review so far: itβs wonderful and very very French
I just started this as well! I love it! And yes, it is the end of the semester and I have hundreds of exams left to grade. Great timing!
A screenshot of the articleβs title and author on the Games & Culture website.
I wrote a new article: itβs on the Fallout franchise, & itβs just been published in Games&Culture
Iβm currently trying to wrap my head around a bigger project on historical video game promotion and branding & this article is a slice (in progress) of that
+ itβs open access!

Same. Not too much AI on my end (less than last year for sure), but lots of disinterest and poor attendance. In many ways, much worse than teaching during the pandemic.
Chiesa with an amazingβ¦β¦save?
I can only offer condolences. I was in the same position for most of the last decade. It is very very frustrating. Your work is great and you don't deserve to live like this.
Once again, ILL remains the purest representation of scholarly community. I use it so much I often write little notes back and forth with the librarians when Iβve borrowed a lot from their library. Itβs the closest you can get to those old penpal schemes and I love it.
With my 7yo, there's something with the 3rd person perspective that he craves, which drew him to Roblox. Maybe it's the ability to see the character? He's never enjoyed first person games, and he doesn't like VR, unlike our 11yo.
I have a 7yo and an 11yo. We banned Roblox (for my 7yo) last year. My 7yo loves 3rd person action games. Currently playing Rachet & Clank and Astro Bot. He also likes Teardown in 3rd person mode. My 11yo is kinda losing interest in games. Most recently she's played Hogwarts Legacy and Job Simulator.
I mean, Dazed and Confused is the obvious pick. Too obvious
Post a movie from where you are from
Also Culloden (1964), an extraordinary historical recreation done on a shoestring budget with a tiny cast which demonstrated the possibilities of the documentary form and had enough confidence in its audience not to dumb down the material. www.reddit.com/r/Documentar...
so the news is that i have done the unthinkable and... started a podcast.
"American Medieval" - because if we've never been fully modern, maybe it's because we've always been a little bit medieval.
the trailer has now dropped! please have a listen -->

Mouth of Madness is something Iβve never seen either. I got the trial to watch Sorcerer, which, so far, has been excellent
That film is so wild. I have a trial for the Criterion Channel and theyβre running a celebration of Carpenter. Seeing this movie and They Live on Criterion is spectacularly awesome
This looks really sharp. Nice work!
The more you know, the more you realize you donβt know
