I totally agree about the ways in which games provide a different entry point for kids! I need to check out multi.
This has me thinking about how I can potentially use games in my coaching work. Another bite size piece like routines that can be used to lead to other conversations about teaching and learning. Any thoughts?
Other games we played that were a hit: Shut the Box, Capturing Rectangles from Building Fact Fluency for our session on multiplication and Find a Place from the book Nsights for our session on decimals. If you have favorite games, I’d love to hear about them!

I tried something new with my elem methods class this semester—ending each session with a game (many thanks to @mathematize4all.bsky.social for the inspiration!). I need to finish grading before I can reflect on things but one thing I know for sure is that it brought joy into my class every week.
