This weekβs update: cooling the Pilet. Both Pilet 5 and 7 use a solid aluminum chassis as a passive heatsink, with a custom heatsink connected directly to it.
Thereβs a fan too, whisper quiet, and only runs when needed. We tested over 20 to find the one you wonβt notice.
We've just added some extra safety features for battery module. We've integrated an eFuse chipset + battery protection for overvoltage, reverse polarity, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection. Safety first!
Pilet's stereo audio module design is now complete and off to manufacturing. It features the TI TLV320AIC3105 codec, a Knowles microphone, and a 3.5mm TRRS stereo audio jack. The speakers connect via JST SURS connectors, making them easy to swap or upgrade.
Weβre looking for a passionate web developer to join our team and help refine our website.
If youβre experienced with Svelte, SvelteKit, TailwindCSS, and have some solid backend knowledge, we want to hear from you. Feel free to reach out to us at team@soulscircuit.com
Here is a preview of Pilet's NVMe module which is now in manufacturing and testing. Weβre considering using a knurled thumb screw instead of a traditional screw for securing the SSD. This would make installation and swapping SSDs much easier, but it might slightly increase thickness. What you think?
We're completely redesigning the keyboard/gamepad module for Pilet, but before we dive in, we'd love to hear your ideas and suggestions!

The Piletβs battery module provides a 5V output, so it might work with other 5V SBCs that support the Raspberry Piβs DSI interface. Provided the layout is very similar to pi5
Folks, the moment has arrived. Pilet is launching tomorrow (January 8th at 9 AM EST) on Kickstarter, with prices starting at $199. The first 100 backers will receive a free NVMe module. www.kickstarter.com/projects/sou...
