You know, out of 9,656 entries, I cant be THAT disappointed.
I'm stunned we didn't get a better rank on the artwork. @wonderfulfrog.com did such an amazing job on it, I'm so impressed.
Time to digest the results, give it a good think, and see what's next with it.

So, we did a thing

Myself and @wonderfulfrog.com worked on this entry for the 2025 GMTK GameJam.
The theme, 'Loop', made us think about being kept 'In The Loop' and the idea of spreading gossip sounded interesting and thematic.
Please give it a try and a review!
I started this only as an attempt to learn Unity, C#, and game dev practices, overtime turning it into something complete and releasable.
I know it wont sell a million copies, I'm preeeetty sure it wont sell 100 copies...but its mine, I made it, I'm proud of what I learned. Excited for what's next!
The 'Town View' of Rumor Raiders where workers in town, represented by unique shapes, are arranged to efficiently fit into a grid. An apothecary, named Henrietta, is being hired and will be placed in the grid somewhere. A 'Manor' civic building is also available to be placed on the grid. There are four buttons at the bottom of the screen, 'Town Management', 'View Dungeons', 'Exit Game', and 'Buy From Loremonger'.
A screen showing 3 members of a family bloodline from the same generation. Each family member has a number of spaces with information such as their name, age, birth sign, and various rumors about them. At the bottom of the screen is a button to Return to Town, a number of Rumors that are available for trade, and a single line from a prophecy, which the player will need to use to figure out the correct family member from the 3 presented and eventually find the True Heir
A view inside of a dungeon, a terrible monster is visible in a small room in the lower right corner. A block of text to the left explains the situation within the room, including the deaths of a number of Raiders. At the top of the screen is an inventory bag with loot being plundered from the dungeon. The middle of the screen has a door icon to go further into the dungeon, and a Flee button, to leave the dungeon.
'Rumor Raiders' releases TUESDAY JUNE 17th!
(Oh gosh, this is really happening...)
A mix of press-your luck dungeoneering, tile-laying, and puzzle solving, Wishlist now if this sounds like your kind of jam!

The player mermaid casting a wave to capsize an alien mining ship
The player mermaid purifying her surroundings of an oil spill
The player mermaid sinking a ship by growing corals out of it, thus fully purifiying it.
The core loop is very simple;
1) Find polluting ships dropped by the mothership!
2) Capsize them with powerful waves!
3) Purify them into a reef that local wildlife can use as a habitat!
The twist?
You have to SING to do so. High notes purify your surroundings and low notes create waves!
Reefsong is a game about using your voice to save the environment! π£οΈπΆ
Play as a mermaid with a magic staff and sing into your microphone to cast abilities! π§ββοΈ
Protect your ecosystem from an alien mothership trying to extract resources from your archipelago! π½

Hi Bluesky!
We are a small Indie Dev Studio based in Hamburg.
We're excited to connect with other developers on this platform, so we'll be sharing a little bit about us and our previous games in the coming days!

Welcome to the party! π
Is it the MAKING (coding) that's hard, or are you getting stuck halfway through the idea and that's why they're unfinished?
Just paid the Steam fee for my next gameπ
New shit coming.

I did my part and wishlisted! :D The game looks great!
if anyone legitimately cool and smart is working on the Amazon Warhammer slate they should be pitching day and night a Gaunt's Ghosts miniseries starring Sean Bean as Ibram Gaunt
Players not reading on-screen text be like
Nothing like a nice getaway with your partner to immediately give you a great #gamedev ideaβ¦for yet another new game.
I GOTTA FINISH SOMETHING, FIRST π€ͺ
(Also, I hope I'm doing the Alt-Text thing right...Worked on some accessibility stuff for the game this past week and I'd be KIIIINDA embarrassed if I did all that and then wasn't using good Alt-Text standards on here...Let me know, please!)
The dungeon of a castle, a scientist in a hood is looking at a treasure chest featuring a tooltip that reads "I've saved up 600 Francs". There is also a tube sticking out of the ceiling, pointing at a very large hole in the floor
I think a game about experimentation needs a better way to show the player important info than just a bulky status bar that reads "Money: $600".
If Igor (or the player) wants to know how many Francs they have, or how hungry The Debt Pit is, they can head down to the castle basement and check! π
if you are ever hesitating about running a D&D session, rest assured that hard part isnβt learning the rules, recruiting players, or even writing the story
it is getting six adults to agree on a day where everyone has several hours free to meet up
An image of a basement, a strange looking man with goggles stands before a pair of large machines with levers, sliders, coin slots and buttons. To the left there are a number of various colored rocks with symbols on them within a menu of sorts. It also appears there is a stairway above and behind him within the brick walls of the castle he inhabits.
Meanwhile, also working on a second game (because sometimes you just get an idea you can't stop thinking about...)
Igor doesn't have a clue how this machine works, will you help him experiment and learn? Buttons, switches, levers....and a coin slot?

Screencap of a game screen, it is a tetris-like game where the game pieces represent citizens of a town. One game piece indicates it is an 'Apothecary' named 'Henrietta Eaton'. Some game pieces also represent civic buildings. There is also a status bar with town details such as their silver reserves, electrum reserves, town debt and upkeep. There are also a number of other buttons for "View Dungeons", "Exit Game" or "Buy from Loremonger"
Getting back to game dev and finding the creative joy in life, soon releasing my first game on Steam, 'Rumor Raiders'. Give it a wishlist if a city-arranger/word puzzle/dungeon push-your-luck sounds like it's up your very specific alley.

I've used nothing but tweens in both of the games I've been working on, I think you can definitely make them look good and fit in with your game, whatever the style.
I guess that makes sense if you're making something like Slay the Spire, where playing it over and over and over again feels sensible, but when you're making a puzzle game...Seems you'd get sick of doing your OWN puzzle over and over...I fear I'm getting worked up and worried about nothing.
