This means that in earnest AI is incredibly prolific, but distinct. And no more a threat to any one of us than the next artist with an intimidating level of skill.
I mean I've been making art one way or another for 40 years. Someone being better than me has never lessened my opportunity to "do art
The "AI artist" isn't an artist anymore than "Dave" was when he ordered me to make art for the thing. They are a "Manager" that takes credit for the labor. And in this is no more a Creator than a Patron that orders "some art" of a given specification.
If anyone cares, I square the circle of AI in art the same way as I might debate if Chihulys chandeliers are "his work" or if my litany of bosses can credibly take credit for work that I have done under their orders.
It's a divisive subject but I do get a kick out of long semi-interrogative conversations with Gemini about why it insists "I (it/they) am not conscious" hahahah.
My thirst for ballyhoo remains unslaked.
