It is a labor of love and an outlet of grief, longing, and the radical hope that even if we find ourselves standing against god-giants like the KADAYUHAN or colonialism or imperialism or capitalism, we will eventually win.
Before, "On the Bones of BATALA" was a mere thought experiment. Now, it is an unflinching anticolonial narrative presented as a folk-horror exploration and truth-seeking game.
Fast forward to four years and a postgraduate degree later, the game is still in development, but it now has a world, cast of characters, and stories that I'm excited to share with everyone.
I originally developed "On the Bones of BATALA" for the FÖLK-LORE Game Jam back in 2021 (it was then called "On the Bones of Bathala" before I learned Bathala was possibly a Spanish misspelling).
