hitting the same target twice is for killing emergency responders, and for making people afraid to help those who have been injured or maimed in a previous strike
the US did this to a schoolhouse

*Iranian π
AHAH what a lapsus
If Iran was member of the ICC, the current crimes committed by the US army could be investigated. Of course this would expose Italian authorities to scrutiny, too, for their own potential war crimes going forward. But with old leadership been wiped out, at least in part, there could be some appetite
Spanish PM Pedro SΓ‘nchez:
You may have heard that Spain is alone. Theyβre the same people who said that when we recognized the State of Palestine, and then others followed.
We are not alone β we are the first. Those who will end up alone are the ones defending the indefensible.
Indonesia and Turkey are both majority Muslim countries (not making any point here, just addressing your point about the graph)
The Justice Department publicly posted additional records related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including some that include allegations against President Trump, following sharp criticism of the agencyβs handling of the issue.
Israeli map showing all of southern Lebanon in red with yellow arrows pointing to north of the Litani river
The IDF just ordered the *entirety of south Lebanon* to be forcibly displaced.
They are emptying the land of its population, creating a massive crisis, and will now proceed to further annihilate large parts of Lebanon.
The very nation state of Lebanon is being destroyed.
And how Ukraine isn't their war, so we in Europe have to pay almost the entire cost of supporting the Ukrainians.
But Israel's wars are their wars, apparently, and we should join them too.
It's really not that complicated π
Yes, I don't disagree with you... And in both cases, there can be varied degrees of instructions and supervision
"no more endless wars" ~ "the war could last forever" (cit)
I think you're right in the merit but likely the Bsky post was also drafted by AI, so that's the message the LLM pulled out for max social media engagement. I suspect the Prof is trying out some sort of socio-tech experiment
In some disciplines (not ours I guess!), writing up findings is a boring thing you do in a month at the end of 4 years PhD... So I don't think *this* use of LLM machines is as unethical as they make it sound. Although, of course, there are other serious ethical & environmental problems
I think there's a wide dissonance btw what he wrote on BSky and the post's actual content, which basically says AI can help writing up your findings after you've done all the research and analysis + provided you instruct and supervise it... That's hardly "do better research"

One RR built "a ~200-line instruction file encoding his research workflow, judgment calls, and behavioral guardrails." Another RR designed "the question, the pre-analysis plan, and the analysis" then AI wrote "The 30-page paper [which] is just vestigial wrapping paper". Not exactly AI replacing you
Read this and don't get the level of pushback on the merit of it. The title is misleading imo. What the blog actually suggests is essentially that the researcher does the research and then genAI is good at writing it up if well supervised, and agentic AI can do good stuff if you instruct it well. π€·ββοΈ
Congratulations to the Greens for winning the May election
And this is how European leaders lost any little credibility they had left after Gaza. Weβre beyond double standards, weβre acquiescing to clear violations because we canβt upset βourβ bully. (So why should a small country bordering with Russia/China/India/you name it do otherwise?)
The man is a bad politician attempting to use his legal background to sound plausible...
International lawyers: US-Israel strikes on Iran are illegal
European government officials: are the strikes illegal? WhO cAN sAy? Certainly not us.
The media: Iran takes illegal escalating action across the Middle East

Trumpβs new βBoard of Peaceβ met for the first time in Washington last week with billions pledged for a Gaza 'reconstruction plan.' Analysts say the Board's plans reframe Gazaβs reconstruction as an investment project.

What I term AI confirmation bias
Well they did criminalize environmental (and then other) protests and compared them to terrorism, criticizing corporate misbehavior seems to be "extreme" for the government
