Fly-a-way is a good one on bird migration, but may be hard to get hold of

Sign Petition: BAN THE CRUEL GUGA HUNT Each year, around August, approximately 10 fishermen from the Island of Lewis in the Scottish Outer Hebrides sail from the Port of (1130 signatures on petition)

Just seen this petition
I am not sure how the hunt is justified in the light of the avian flu effects on seabirds

That's fascinating
I have seen many insects impaled on spiky plants - usually after bad weather and I have always assumed it was accidental
Impaled on grass seems strange
My suspicion would be a bird storing food

Thank you very much. Unfortunately it flew off just after this photo was taken. So, I will probably never know for certain

Yesterday's WCBS near Bungay, Suffolk was fairly low on numbers, but it was nice that the second most numerous species (after Meadow Brown) was Small Tortoiseshell. Also nice to find 2 Small Heaths in the field where there is usually a single one πŸ˜‚ #butterflies #wcbs
