Frankly, it is such a common illness (12% of all deaths) that most of us will have family who have suffered with it. Genetical susceptibility is not a diagnosis, just information.
Also it leave people vulnerable to charlatans. My gran spent sooooo much on gadgets and pills to help her vitamin deficiencies or energy levels or other vague tv diagnosis. It was early dementia.

A family member is currently going through early memory loss and it is very, very disturbing for him. He has stopped driving, doing walks etc.
If you do not explain and offer diagnosis to those seeking it, it does not make the symptoms go away. They still know something is up

Agree. It shouldn't be. But that wasn't the reason they announced it at the start of Gov tenure. There would have been much better ways to make the welfare system fairer between the generations.

I agree, and there are many other finacial injustices between our generations. However, the Winter Fuel Payment like child SEND spending or pip payments, is hardly pushing the country into bankruptcy.
