Finally finished my timelapse of the lunar eclipse under the aurora in Fairbanks, Alaska! Check out the massive substorm turning the ground green in front of the eclipse, too!
This is one of my favorite timelapses I have captured!

The Owlympic Games were in full swing. In the competition of Defiance Against The Big Loud Orange Bird (BLOB), Owlexander, Owlizabeth and Owlgernon won all the medals, and took their positions on the rostrum, wearing their trademark anti-BLOB glare.

I love Wirecutter recommendations. They haven't failed me yet.
Nice! Tramontina?
I'm staying underground too. This weather is insane!
A photo of a canyon wren perched on a rock. Its long tail is pointed up.
Who else loves canyon wrens?

Lol, it's hard to comply with the terns of release when you don't even acknowledge their jurisdiction over you.
Happy Birthday, Bob! Naps are the best!
Lol, they lost it all gambling. Sorry.

Rosy-faced lovebird. Here are a pair of small mainly green birds with sweet pink faces.. These are peeking out of a nesting cavity in a saguaro ๐ต cactus.
These charming birds are an invasive species to the Phoenix, AZ area...I lived in Mesa, AZ for many years and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them. I always heard them first, and wow, they are fast! ๐๐ชถ

I still see them!
Often nature moments are envisioned and waited for.
You see something or imagine it might happen, and you have to plan and return multiple times
Often it never happens
Then there are the completely unexpected encounters

Smoky jungle frog, Guyana
It's hard to get a sense of scale from this, but the smoky jungle frog is the largest amphibian I've ever seen. We first saw it in Ecuador 20 years ago (my wife still refers to it simply as the "Hypnotoad"), and I had a chance to nab this photo this January in Guyana.
(Guinea pig-sized, I'd say.)
Snowy fox squirrel on the fence. His eyes are almost shut!

One more from British Columbia.. a โ๏ธ Ruddy Duck (Oxyura jamaicensis) in full breeding mode! They have a wheezy grunt at the end of their beak stutter but unfortunately there is too much wind noise in this video.. can barely hear it. #BirdingBritishColumbia #ducks #waterfowl
