To be fair, about a year ago I was booked on the 0846 EUS CRE after doing the beds following 1S51 PLY GLC...

PBC fault on original set, couldn't get a brake release. Only other set available was a 4, ended up being the only person on and express EUS CRE too.

So it's not always booked 4 wagons...
