βGone but not forgottenβ.
While populism can mean different things, at its core I believe it holds that the great mass of people should be given more power than the "elites". Thus populism should support greater voter participation in order to check the power of the elites. This is what confused me about the initial post.
Just as Jesus would want, Mr. Secretary of "War"?
Elect a felon, expect a crime spree.
Given the heated nature of most social media exchanges, I find understatement to be a powerful rhetorical device. Well said, Mr. Ryssdal.
What facts support that assertion?
What an abomination. The Founders would be appalled.
Maybe itβs a bad idea to put people in charge of government who are eager for the rapture.
It sure did.
Excellent point.
The new leader of Iranβ¦we donβt want him. They can have him.
Exclusive: The inspector general for the Department of Homeland Security said the agencyβs leaders had βsystematically obstructedβ its work, including in a federal criminal investigation. on.wsj.com/4aQauNi
So profoundly sad.
Thank you for helping us remember them.
For years on my old blog I published the names of servicemembers who died in Iraq & Afghanistan. No other outlets were.
These are the first 4 Americans to die in the Iran War.
Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35
Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42
Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39
Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20
More of this, please
Addressing a problem which doesn't exist is performative legislating. Our GOP state legislators are masters at it, down to the cowgirl hat.
Even a blind dog (female) finds an occasional bone.
WSJ reports that in an "abrupt reversal" DOJ does intended to pursue its appeal of court orders striking down its executive order punishing law firms who opposed Trump. Doubt this will end in a legal victory for Trump
Leaving Americans behind already
Today was an important day for the opposition movement. The law firms that stood up against Donald Trump threats won.
Those that capitulated and collaborated with Trump will need to explain to their families, clients and future generations why when democracy was at stake they were such cowards.
Clinton shows up the committee.
Consistency is not their thing.
I would offer this perspective. It's wasn't a "government" which elected Trump; it was American voters who supported Trump. The system wasn't broken. Trump voters betrayed our country's principles by electing a tyrant who doesn't believe in them.
And yet thanks to GOP Senators, here we are.
Truth telling is not his strenght.
I can't believe the Founders would have approved.
