a proper strawberry is everything a crunchberry wishes it could be.
the strawberries we would get in our CSA box were literally picked THAT MORNING. And if we didn't eat them THAT NIGHT, they were done. Over. Gone.
Friend, it was not a hardship to eat that pint of strawberries while unpacking the box.
those giant strawberries taste like sadness and disappointment.
Persimmons? Either kind? Nope. Just ... bland?
But oh those pears. Gotta let 'em ripen tho; usually takes about a week and then I'm eating like two a day 'cause they'll go bad almost as fast as field-picked strawberries.

And for the pear haters out there, if you've never received a box from Harry&David ... well. Because those pears are stand-over-the-sink good.
