Commissioned book cover for Tiffany Roberts' sci-fi romance 'Silent Lucidity' - the second installment (technically the first, the previous one is a prequel/novella) of their book series 'The Infinite City'. The illustration is of a couple holding each other tenderly. Tenthil, the MMC, is gazing quite intensely but lonvingly at his mate, Abella, as he holds her waist. He has several scars all over his body, most prominently on the corners of his mouth. He has dark gray skin, silver hair and eyes. Abella, the FMC, is human and is also holding Tenthil as she stares at his eyes in a very tender and loving manner. She has black hair and green eyes and is actually quite tall.

Complete illustration of the cover described previously, this time it showcases the cityscape the couple is posing against. It's a very vibrant, cyberpunk kind of city. It has plenty of buildings which glow in different colors, some of which display different holograms and projections. It also has a lot of different neon signs some of which are of tentacles, others are of ramen and there are even some that depict female bodies. Some signs are written in a made up written language and are advertising things like guns and shady businesses.

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

ppl who still commission their favourite artists even in this era where everyone is broke and genAI is being pushed on us at every opportunity—you are appreciated more than words can express!!!

Someone who's already committed, lives with her partner and share a life together had to practically pay her way into my wife's life, seduce her, and be in a relationship with her because having a partner already wasn't enough. And now I'm here, 10 years down the drain, back into the closet.

And now here I am, forced back into the closet with no steady support system, forced to deal with homophobes and transphobes. Hoping it doesn't hinder the attempt I'm making to mentally improve with therapy. I wonder if she knows her worst nightmare is currently my own.

Sometimes I think about how she has absolutely no idea that her (and my ex's actions) made me lose my childhood dream of having a family that accepted me as a queer person, that made me free and safe. That I lost nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law who cared for me.

Sometimes my rumination (a symptom of my PTSD) gets unbearable and the only way for me to half deal with it is to vent into the void: Sometimes I wonder if the woman my ex cheated on me with can even fathom going back to the closet or losing her entire support system of 10 years?

As I said, rhetorical. The answer is: Neurodivergent characters are disposable and othered/dehumanized in the narrative therefore they can be used as an excuse for the author to add adversity to the story without having to excessively punish their main characters.

Rhetorical question but, generally speaking, why do authors upon having a cast of mostly neurotypical characters have the need to punish their neurodivergent characters incessantly. Why is it that everyone has a happy ending and the neurodivergent character needs to face more cruelty than the rest.

Tiffany and Robert are honestly incredible to work with. 😭❤️ When they asked me to draw these covers I honestly couldn't believe it since I'm also a huge fan of the book series.
For this cover I painted an entire nebula from scratch and later added it to the BG, it was a lot of fun!! 😊
