I went to that building years ago when I lived in Buffalo. The Karpeles Manuscript Library was having an exhibit of maps of the new world. It’s in a great location, right between Downtown Elmwood and Allentown.

I’m excited by boardgames like Wingspan where I don’t know who will win until the very end of the game. I’m less excited by games where I can clearly see who’s winning mid-game (like a racing game). If it’s clear I’m losing and I don’t feel like I can be competitive, I lose interest.

I just finished reading this story from the Hugo voters packet. I enjoyed the discussion of life in academia, the subtle fantastical elements, and the slowly escalating tension. It’s an excellent story.
