Wave is built on top of XMTP, an open protocol designed specifically for secure, decentralized messaging. Wave is an app layer on top of XMTP. The protocol is open and publicly auditable.

Happy to clarify. While I haven’t built apps using React Native, that doesn’t mean I haven’t built apps. Regarding Wave, we do not store any user data from the app, and we do not handle or manage user keys in any way.

If you don’t have a direct link to message a fellow Bluesky user, you can simply message them from your Followers or Following tab in Wave. It’s that simple.

We identified an issue with self-hosted PDS accounts. The issue has now been fixed & we are pushing an update. It should go live in around 2 days, depending on Apple’s review time.
