It’s kind of sad really because I think TFA set the stage for a character that could be interesting. Identity and belonging is a universal experience but then they never take her character on a journey to let go of these things.

So I guess I’ll amend my point to say that I think letting go is very difficult for some people. Examples include staying in bad relationships too long, yearning for a past relationship( even fleetingly), not letting go of routine or the status quo because of fear of the unknown etc.
They can but I’ve also seen this take variable amounts of time for people as well. And letting go can be different depending on what we’re letting go of. I’m quite good with death for example but really bad at letting go with other things. At least with regard to inner turmoil.
