My latest review for @crimefictionlover.bsky.social is the debut spy feature from Paul Warner, introducing us to the compelling new character Mark Wolfe. It's twisty, turny and a fun ride.

Not seen that one but this one is fun.
Somehow on book 5 of the year. Very good so far. Got a few bits coming on the show too.
It's a milestone birthday this year so I'm determined to make it a good one and take more risks.
Bringing Up Baby as my first film of 2026 then a rewatch of Sentimental Value at the Cinema tomorrow. Start as we mean to go on.
Some of my favourite reads this year. Also got a nice selection to kick start 2026's reads.
Marty Supreme hits UK Cinemas on Friday.
Instantly became one of my faves of the year. A blast.

Fallout is back today diving into the world of New Vegas. Another terrific season for what is quite possibly my favourite game adaptation. Full review for @techadvisor.com.

First of a double screening day. Marty Supreme later.
I'm not one for manifesting but I'd absolutely love to interview Jessie Buckley one day. Who knows.
Yes this sounds great.
I love The Eagles and Joni so this will be up my street anyway.
I do have a copy of Now that's What I Call Xmas haha, was just thinking of more obscure choices rather than the same old songs.
Ok hive mind had Kate Bush's wonderful Fifty Words for Snow on yesterday. What are some other good wintery albums (Xmas albums acceptable).
A busy week for new film releases in the UK, particularly for festival circuit films. One of the highlights from LFF was the return of Benoit Blanc in Wake Up Dead Man which now makes its way to UK cinemas.

Next part of my chat with Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson for Down Cemetery Road is now live in @radiotimes.bsky.social. Thoroughly recommend checking the show out now on Apple TV.

For @soundspheremag.bsky.social I took a look at how the festival and awards season films have the connective tissue of grief and unpack it in their own unique ways.

Big week of interviews so apologies for the spam. Spoke with Ballad Of a Small Player screenwriter Rowan Joffe about bringing Lawrence Osborne's work to life. The film is on Netflix now.

Catching up on a Mike Leigh blindspot (on Netflix) and boy oh boy what a film, instantly near the top of the one's I've seen.
Had a brilliant chat with the brilliant trio, Say She She a couple of weeks ago. The full write up is now live in @clashmusic.com. Urge people to check out their back catalogue and especially Cut & Rewind.

Deliver Me From Nowhere isn't the only Bruce Springsteen release coming out. There's a comprehensive reissue of Nebraska with the fabled electric sessions. Took a look at it for @clashmusic.com.

Ok revisiting an autumnal favourite. What are folk's favourites?
Yeah he previously managed to kind of do both well and now hes doing neither very well.
The fact the weakest era Tame Impala (by some distance), is now his most commercially successful is really depressing. Lonerism still his peak.
Perhaps but also a few other bits and bobs.
Journalism and espionage related.
