I remember it took months to put out the Kuwaiti oilfield fires, after the fighting stopped in the first gulf war.

We should be so lucky. π
We're fine. It's just always something. π€·ββοΈ
@mattlanza.bsky.social Getting a pretty good soaking here near the Galleria. Close to two inches, per rain gauge 2260. Finding out all the problematic spots in and around my new rental house. π
Iβve said this before and Iβll say it again: Matt runs the best online bookstore on these internets and has some truly unique books. Do Matt a solid and pick up a book. π
Rolodex endorsement, really? It's Rolex.
The show is not just "erotic filler". It's a nuanced romance. Maybe you aren't familiar with the genre. Jacob Tierney says Shane & Ilya communicate through mostly through sex. If you didn't see that, you didn't pay close enough attention.
Did anyone ever do an analysis on the environmental impact of the many oil wells Saddam lit on fire in Kuwait in the early '90s?
JFC, these Democrats. π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
I absolutely do. My comment stands.
I'm really so tired of white people. π
No. Lewandowski is an abusive POS. Workers shouldn't be subjected to him.
Come on, now. Words have no meaning. Everyone (in the GOP) knows that.

Yes, and it's very faithful to the book in most respects. Much of the actual dialogue of the main characters is exact. Jacob skipped the epilogue though. Possibly that will be in Season 2.
God, Democrats are so fucking frustrating! π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
It's a very faithful adaptation of the books. I hadn't read the books in a few years when I watched the show the first time. I'm not convinced the order matters. I think either way is fine. Just keep in mind the first couple of episodes covers a number of years. It really takes off after that.
"war.gov" seriously? π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
Sadly, I think we're kinda getting used to it. But honestly, I haven't bought paperbacks in a long time. I read in the Kindle app on my phone. I had to get rid of all my books a few years ago because my apartment was full of toxic mold and that stuff grabs on to paper like crazy.
They're doing it in Texas too and it sucks. But what about the commercial license plate readers on all of our highways that sell our location data and travel patterns to law enforcement? That shit is also invasive and should not be legal. Just because I left my house shouldn't be probable cause.
I just meant, people like Cotton and Ted Cruz know the actual meaning of "imminent". They aren't so stupid that they don't know what words actually mean (Trump is that stupid). These guys know, but they choose to ignore it when it suits their malevolent purposes.
He could've done nothing and taken credit. But that wouldn't be hurting the people he (and MAGA) hates.
The worst part is, people like Cotton know better. He's not stupid, just evil.
I'm certain this is a joke. But that doesn't mean Kash wouldn't find an excuse to be there. And what college student wouldn't want to party with the FBI Director? π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
I honestly want to know who (and how) is trying to keep up with the multiple influences on Trump? Is it Jared trying to keep all of the blackmailer balls in the air? π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
I just looked it up. He flew past the field in the last 8th with his girth WAY back. He and Victor appeared unbothered.
Reminds me... didn't California Chrome win the Dubai World Cup in similar fashion?
Imagine if we had just spent that money on the social safety net? π€
Very nice, Surf! ππ
I don't. But I've had my fill of politicians going on about their Christian faith. Usually they use it to justify doing bad shit. We are supposed to have separation of church and state in this country. But instead we have a fucking national prayer breakfast.
Not being terrified my disabled friend would kill himself because his SNAP and health insurance were taken away, meaning he had to stop his cancer treatments and he's starving. And I can't afford to really help him.
It won't get him any Republican votes. Those people aren't Christians, they are hypocrites. And Talarico talks about his Christian faith way too much for my taste. I'm sure it's genuine. But there are a lot of Americans who aren't Christians. Who is representing them (us)?
