Nothing profound to write – just try to point out reality. Hate Brexit – no time for its proponents. Blighted by OCD. Prone to sarcasm. If occasional profanity offends, you're in the wrong place.

That's my whole point… why tf do the media, the Tories and RefUK Party Ltd get in such a lather about it.
I doubt that Joe Public gives a fuck.

I know that its use was instigated following a reference by Churchill, but latterly it's been bandied about by hacks & politicians, seemingly to inflate the UK's relevance. As Starmer said last week, the intelligence sharing etc, was continuing despite the difference of opinion. So what's special? 🙄

Given the state of the members of the media, getting their arses in their hands about the UK's 'special relationship' with the US; I wish some herbert would articulate precisely what that is. 🙄

I'd forgotten that but I thought the media was highly critical of Blair/Campbell subsequently, for well-known reasons.

Bloody Churchill has a lot for which to answer. I am sick to death of politicians and (worse) journalists constantly carping on about a 'special relationship'.
The only relationship we have with the Septics, is that they nearly speak English… or American, as Hogsbreath recently claimed.

I'm going to call that a jobs recession."

By the left, quick… amble.
Left, left, left right, left.
What a fucking shambles!
#Krasnov momentarily left behind so that he had to quicken his pace, then finally, #Hogsbreath having to watch the squaddie in front of him, to take his cue on spacing and when to 'right turn'.
What a bunch of 🤡🤡. 🙄

On the basis of the competition, I'm not so sure it's the big deal Sky News thinks it is. 🙄

Forgive my military ignorance but, if the Septic's dominance in/around Iran is to be believed, why aren't the Strait of Hormuz re-opened?
Could the 🍊fascist and #BourbonHogsbreath be exaggerating about their achievements?

peaking to a left-wing think tank, the home secretary argued that the sheer scale of low-skilled migration in recent years — including the vast, fraud-ridden expansion of the health and care visa — will not only be a substantial fiscal negative for the country, but is deeply unfair for the existing working class, who will find themselves paying not just through their taxes but via pressure on social housing and NHS waiting lists. “It is essential,” she argued, “that the privilege of living in this country for ever is earned, and not automatic.”

Welcome endorsement for Mahmood's fictional numbers/false claims from @rcolvile.bsky.social, who of course had to pull his own "research" when it turned out to contain fictional numbers and false claims...

How lessons from Iraq are shaping Starmer’s Iran response Operation Epic Fury is a US military operation. It will not be possible for the UK to exert any significant influence in planning.

This is superlative.

Starmer’s position is entirely consistent with what he wrote about Iraq in 2003, a fact of enormous inconvenience to just about everybody currently criticising it. Happily for them, just like the entire bloody Chilcot Inquiry it is apparently very easy to ignore.

The competence issue matters because what is at stake here is not, as many commentators claim and, no doubt, some political activists and voters hope, that Labour need to respond to the by-election defeat with a ‘lurch to the left’. Setting an immigration policy which is fair, rational, and consonant with economic and demographic needs is not, in itself, ‘left-wing’. Operating an efficient and humane asylum process is not, in itself, ‘left-wing’. Making a clear distinction between immigration and asylum policies is not, in itself, ‘left-wing’. To think otherwise is to cede the idea that these are somehow ‘extreme’ propositions and that the policies of virtually zero immigration, mass deportation, and the near-total rejection of asylum seekers advocated by Reform and others are the ‘norm’ or ‘moderate’.

As @chrisgrey.bsky.social says, rejecting Mahmood's plans would not be a "lurch to the left" but simply about restoring a basic level of (economic, political and administrative) competence.

Until the BBC and the RW media/press are properly regulated, this will continue to happen.
Collectively, parties on the left and centre should unite to challenge our corrupt media.
