Power move
I had such a lovely time last year, and they treated me so well. You will have a great time!
Yes, those are the best
If you liked The Blue Way, this revised version includes new edits based on review by academics, a teaching guide, and a whole add-on that expands it beyond brute force assimilation into a blending of cultures.
Yeah this model presents three asymmetrical factions, each with a three-player subgroup. Everyone has four meaningful connections. There's a six-player "ring" that forms its own subgroup and connects all the factions (In this case, members of the Petrograd set). Lots of thought in this design.
So a famous "was it a suicide, really?" party, I'm here for it
In this case "run it" means do all the non-fun labor like finding a venue and dealing with actual people, but if you are up for that we can definitely talk about it.
This is one of those things where ideas are cheap and I need someone else to do all the work to make it happen.
Group Portrait (Tamiji Najito, Boris Pasternak, Sergei Eisenstein, Olga Trejakova, Lili Brik, Vladimir Mayakovsky, and the Soviet Diplomat Voznesensky)
This entire thing was inspired by this photo
You aren't wrong
It's fine! I think the folks who would have told me were at GTS all week. Thank you for sharing the good news.
Dibs on Mayakovsky
Love ya Jenn, it's me and you and perhaps no one else on Earth
@czamboni.bsky.social beat me to the punch! This was under wraps until, I guess, today. Anyway CMU Press is publishing an updated and Very Deluxe version of my game and I could not be happier. Art by Sam Araya!
A close up photograph of a bubblegum machine shows multicolored capsules with folded papers. There is a blue circle with an orange outline that says The Bully Pulpit Games $1 Bubble Gum Games Machine Bite Sized Games to Chew On!
If you DO swing by our booth, we have plenty of #TTRPGs and #games left for your collection.
AND for a single clam, you can get a bite-sized game that won't take up any tangible space in your bags home. #GAMAExpo2026
It's a complex relationship map for a dinner party in Moscow in May, 1924, with the various leading lights of that time and place, like Vladimir Mayakovsky and Sergei Eisenstein.
A 15-player full costume weekend larp I'd love to play some time. I'd even build it if someone else were to run it. It'd be A Lot.
I feel like White Plume Mountain improves when you view it as a tournament dungeon, which is how I encountered it back in the day. If you're shoveling people through and trying to weed out parties, the capricious insanity makes much more sense.
Maternal grandpa went to aerial gunnery school in 43; the rule was best in class stayed behind to teach the next cohort. He was best in class and as a result here I am-many of his classmates died. Went into advertising after. Paternal grandpa was a liberty ship sailor, then a janitor and fire chief.
Now that's what I'm talking about
If you are a retailer swing by and see @segedy.bsky.social, we have some sweet deals for GAMA attendees involving maybe not paying for shipping.
Do you have any pictures featuring @nathanblack.com though?
A long read from me today, about the delicate task of designing respectful historical board games. Massive thanks to @amabel.bsky.social and @colewehrle.bsky.social for talking to me about their design approaches. www.wargamer.com/board-games/...
At least you will have a copy of Magical Athletes, currently my favorite game.
I routinely get them mixed up
That second guy without the red shirt is extremely barf-y to me
"The Sickle Hour is a short tabletop game that returns to a theme I've explored before - the interesting stuff that occurs when fairyland brushes with the mundane world in mundane ways." - @jmstar.bsky.social, inspired by reading about twins.
#TheSickleHour now available on our Patreon!
Got a good view of Fiasco by @jmstar.bsky.social from @bullypulpithq.bsky.social Student certainly sold the class on this game, in terms of interest, with several coming to my office hours to check it out.
This game does a really interesting thing - there's a sort of Heisenbergian element where both twins potentially have cool elf superpowers right up to the moment when one of them actually *uses* them - and then the other doesn't, and never will. At the table, there's a dreadful player-level tension!
