U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar says she was told by a top White House official that federal immigration agents are at or near their βoriginal footprintβ in Minnesota, contradicting a claim from the departing Homeland Security secretary.
CNN's Dana Bash reports on a conversation she just had with Trump: "He quickly turned to Cuba. He said without being asked, 'Cuba is going to fall pretty soon.'"
In sum,
1. Labor market remains strong
2. Consistent with stabilization here & end to weakening
3. But weakening could easily resume
Last month's report was anomalously strong. Job losses & unemployment today look weak but most else (wage growth, hours, EPOP, PAEPOP...) looks stable.
How does recent growth compare to recent years?
Economy added just 0.16 million jobs over 12 months to Feb 2026.
Job growth stopped.
I feel like a basic humanity check when it comes to war is to ask how youβd feel if it happened in your country.
If missiles struck NYC or DC, would you accept it if the proclaimed goal was to dislodge someone awful from power, someone you hated?
I wouldnβt. (And not for lack of being a hater).
There is something so satisfying about seeing these perfect little icons. I can only imagine that creating them is even better.
NIH leadership wants to strip worker's rights from the majority of scientists on its campuses.
But, the NIH does not get to say whether we are a union or not. We do, and we are no strangers to having to fight for our union. Time for a short history lesson. 1/n

Senator Sheehy must be arrested for assault.
He should be censured by the Senate and be pressured to resign.
Kristi Noem needs to go.
So much!
Election Day confusion due to rule changes can lead to disenfranchisement β people arenβt able to vote or their vote isnβt counted due to wrong place, wrong time. The disenfranchisement isnβt necessarily intentional, but can impact outcomes. And it often sparks rumors about intent.
ICYMI: If the Supreme Court weakens Voting Rights Act protections against racial discrimination in redistricting, it could usher in the largest-ever drop in representation by Black members of Congress
Promo picture for a fundraiser showing that Pete Hegseth as the special guest at a political fundraiser for Zach Nunn
Not only can I not think of a time when a sitting Secretary of Defense was ever the guest of honor at a political fundraiser, but I definitely can't think of a time when he did so weeks after starting a massive, unnecessary war
Iβve been notified about another death in ICE custody.
This marks a stunning 40 deaths during the second Trump administration.
This cannot continue. There must be real accountability for ICE and DHS.
Hey all,
What questions do you have on the Iran war?
@jvl.bsky.social, @timmiller.bsky.social and @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social will be going live today with The Next Level at 2PM ET. Send them to us and we'll send to the gang to answer.
There was no immediate threat from Iran, and there is still no clear objective.
Congress must immediately vote to end Trump's war with Iran.
Also a shoutout to @erininthemorning.com and @marisakabas.bsky.social, whose amazing independent journalism played an integral role in this piece. I highly recommend becoming a (paid!) subscriber of both of them!

Great pieceππ» re Kansas' law on sex markers, IDs, and restrooms. If you get punished for complying maybe the point is punishment. π€
"...residents face penalties both for having complied with the prior law and possibly for attempting to bring their documents into conformity with the new one."
New from @isaacsederbaum.bsky.social & @paisleycurrah.com at Can We Still Govern:
Many trans people in Kansas just had the primary form of ID deemed illegal. It fits a pattern of criminalizing compliance with previous policies. π§΅https://donmoynihan.substack.com/p/when-compliance-becomes-a-crime
I've radically revised and expanded this piece to try to keep up with the torrent of bullshit coming from the administration.
The key point remains: there was no imminent threat to America. This is a war of choice lacking a single compelling justification.

Increased ICE activity in MN.
Whipple Federal Building, Fort Snelling, MN.
Congress must return immediately and vote to put an end to this war.
Every Senator should be on the recordβthe American people deserve to know which of their leaders supports another potentially bloody and costly war in the Middle East.
No war with Iran.

New from @splawinski.bsky.social at Can We Still Govern: To stymie ICE, look at the sources of its power.
That includes money but also co-operative 287(g) agreements with state and local govts.
Blocking and reversing those agreements weakens ICE capacity. π§΅

February 26, 2026 Dear members of the Columbia community: This morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security entered a Columbia Residential building and detained a student. We are working to gather more information, working to reach the family, and providing legal support. Our understanding at this time is that the federal agents made misrepresentations to gain entry to the building to search for a "missing person." We are working to gather more details. It is important to reiterate that all law enforcement agents must have a judicial warrant or judicial subpoena to access non-public areas of the University, including housing, classrooms, and areas requiring CUID swipe access. An administrative warrant is not sufficient. If law enforcement agents seek entry to non-public areas of the University, ask the agents to wait to enter any non-public areas until contacting Public Safety. Public Safety will contact the Office of the General Counsel to coordinate the University's response. Do not allow them to enter or accept service of a warrant or subpoena. We will update our community as additional information becomes available. Sincerely,
