Vikings center Ryan Kelly announces his retirement after 129 starts in 10 seasons. Three concussions limited Kelly's only season in Minnesota to eight games, and just four full games with J.J. McCarthy
Source confirms the #Vikings will restructure the contracts of Justin Jefferson and Christian Darrisaw. They can defer as much as $18 million with a signing bonus conversion on Jefferson's deal, while clearing as much as $9.2 million on Darrisaw's contract.

NFL free agency preview: If Aaron Jones Sr. is cut, who will the Vikings pair with Jordan Mason?
The Vikings (two GMs ago) got the last favor Hunter will ever do for a NFL front office, and it directly helped the franchise win its last playoff game in 2019.
Danielle Hunter's latest 1-year deal for over $40 million is another example of the former Viking maximizing every dollar after he feared for his career with the 2020 neck injury. He talked about regret with his initial extension, saying it was the move of a young guy not knowing the business.
The Vikings may cut both Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave to gain cap space before free agency next week. Here's a look at where they stand at defensive tackle, and which FAs could be fits: www.startribune.com/minnesota-vi...
the vikings still haven't recovered
Greenard reportedly wants a raise, which better explains this.
The Cardinals have informed QB Kyler Murray that they are releasing him, adding a key free agent to the market.
Murray is due $36.8M guaranteed for 2026 with offsets, meaning heβll play this season for someone for the minimum.
The Colts wanted to lock up both Daniel Jones and Alec Pierce before the tag deadline - Now the goal is to get them done before free agency next week.

Yeah he's a good deal for another team at $18m, but I have a hard time believing they're not doing this unless they're in cap hell. They talk about building around a core and he's a kind of guy that makes the core.
Hah! This is the world the Wilfs want...
Greenard's contract
2026 cap: $22.1m (11th)
AAV: $19m (17th)
None of Greenard's ~$18m salary is guaranteed until March 13
PFF's pass rush efficiency
2025: 15th
2024: 14th
Vikings squeezing many of their expensive Rosenhaus clients, including Hargrave, Jones, and apparently Greenard. Bills are coming due on the spending sprees of the last two years.
The Vikings will interview other candidates for GM.
But at the Combine, a variety of voices expressed support for Rob Brzezinski taking the role full-time.
On Robβs personableness, which earned him that support & will help the Vikings the next few months:http://bit.ly/4rcobLq
Before launching his Substack, all Steve Sack had to do was re-teach himself how to draw using his left hand.
For sure. I can't speak for how an individual player wants to grade, but just wanted to say there are a lot more factors they consider than "did Kwesi put together a winner?" ... that was the Wilfs' primary concern, and Kwesi's gone.
The Vikings also spent more than $300 million in cash, the NFL's most expensive roster in 2025, and reward players handsomely in contract negotiations. Winning is the ultimate for fans, but players have a lot more skin in this game.
Teams aren't conducting the surveys. The players union collects the data straight from locker rooms.

Predictably after the NFL's recent arbitration win to put the annual team report cards behind the scenes, ESPN quickly obtained the 2026 version.
The Vikings ranked 2nd for a third straight year behind the Miami Dolphins as graded by their players.
John Lynch told reporters in Indianapolis that the former Vikings GM will return to where he spent seven years (and helped shape the 2017 process that hired Lynch and Shanahan)

On the first day of the combine, the #Vikings made clear they're open to all possibilities at QB. Kevin OβConnell said "a lot of" his feelings about J.J. McCarthy "are still the same" as when the team drafted him, but the "timeline is in a different place:" www.startribune.com/vikings-kevi...
The #Vikingsβ full coaching staff for 2026. Of note: Josh McCown gets an offensive passing game coordinator role, while Dalmin Gibson moves from the special teams staff to the assistant LB coach role.
