That would definitely make me feel old, the 90s movie is my personal definitive TMNT. I've definitely softened in my TMNT elitism over the years and come to appreciate that each generation has their own definitive turtles though. Especially with how much my kid loves the latest ones.
I have been struggling with this same temptation lately but with reading the books for the first time. Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was such a powerful reminder how fun George's writing/worlds are and I'm jonesing for more.
I will say from my experience I almost never side out red Razor Reflex despite the matchup guide.
It's really fun. The fatigue matchup sucks but I was really surprised at how good it is into the top aggro decks.
I've been messing with Trade Federations list and it's fun.

So I fully expected to play Briar again in Silver Age considering she was my Blitz/CC main since her release. But it's just way more fun to play stuff Riptide and Lyath right now. #fabtcg
It's definitely tough when it feels like your lgs doesn't have your back. The store owners support me despite not being one of their employees and I still get down if we have a low event turn out. Maybe start with the free decks and then just show up on a busy TCG day and try to get folks to demo?

Oh and ask your LGS to get the free Bravo demo decks and SAGE starters and run learn to play events. The low cost has been an incredible selling point for me since they dropped but you have to break through the misconceptions that FAB is expensive. 3/2
Be friendly. Get to know peoples names, talk to people in between rounds, make sure to introduce yourself, and offer help to new players. I also like to take players from marginalized groups aside and offer the option for a "judge call" if they feel uncomfortable with another player. 2/2
Every community is going to be different so I would say first off, listen to your players. Talk to them and understand what they want when it comes to event time, competitive level/format, and prizing. Be consistent in firing events at the same weekly time with whatever formats they want. 1/2
The obvious winners in CC seem like Oscilio and Fai but I could definitely be missing something. I feel like the ally rules change and the inevitable Kayo/Verdance LL are going to have a much bigger effect on the meta post PQ season.
Been feeling weird about #fabtcg lately. On one hand the SAGE starters and format are fantastic and bringing in new players locally big time. Alternatively the CC meta comes off a bit stale with the last few sets having minimal impact and we're losing veteran players to Riftbound.
LSS is actually a secret travel agency and Fab is just a front to sell travel packages to events across the globe.
This is actually spot on with my experience as well. I just wish the power level gap between certain heroes wasn't so wide.
I think the feeling of lack of player agency can be particularly frustrating and drives the negativity. Personally I wish they would just make better counter play options for some of the unique playstyles in this game instead of just removing them or banning them into oblivion.
