I agree for at least a basic sense of subjectivity/what-it's-likeness, bur I think affect has at least some connection to ethics, and affect requires/presupposes consciousness.

I am assuming the latter since I've never met a millennial who grew up a Ducks fan
Wait did you marry a Ducks fan or did you guys get into the Ducks because you live in L.A.?
Sports is great escapism: what baffles me is that you chose to get into hockey
Colin Jost nailed it when his Hegseth said "look, I wasn't even there for the second strike. I was so pumped from the first one that I had to go outside and call my sponsor...uh, I mean a guy I met anonymously at a meeting"
@andrewtheblueskier.bsky.social you are being paged
I'd be scared of Philly if Joel Embiid were a decade younger
This is true but when it's only one great-grandparent a lot of traits disappear. All that's left in his case is eagerness and, I assume, a habit of eating things he really shouldn't.
Sterling K. Brown can nail literally any role youtu.be/LD4ryByjVyo?...
Possibly yellow lab
The difference is that Noem is 100% dumb evil fascist whereas Mullin is 90% dumb evil fascist and 10% golden retriever

They couldn't intercept missiles heading for UAE?
So not to Hormuz.
Got it.
Oh yeah not before a burger. But I usually get grilled chicken at a pub because it's harder to make it bad (just put sauce on it if it's too dry)
People basically have this instinct that if an information-processing system is complex enough, then it'll get consciousness for free.
And they're usually right! But they have no idea why they're right, and the reasons are important for figuring out which cases are exceptions (including current AI)
Mozzarella sticks
But AI-based philosophy of mind discourse on this site is *not*, I repeat, *not* ready for evolution and functions of consciousness discourse
The real answer is that consciousness functions (among other things) as a filtering and selection mechanism that an information-processing entity will inevitably benefit from (and evolve) wayyyyyy before superintelligence
Nintendo also probably has better health care policy; Dr Mario believes in germ theory
Anyway, that's this left-liberal universalist's sense of things.
The "postliberal" discussion of the use of state power for "conservative" ends is a way of getting to the same place in a more piecemeal fashion.
And indeed you can find over the last decade, starring with Michael Anton's "Flight 93 Election" a bunch of essays by people who or in venues which turned fascist, justifying an abandonment of conservative principles in favor of a revolutionary (framed as counter-revolutionary) ideology.

Basically, if conservatism is centered around preservation of a supposedly extra-human aspect of order, then conservatives become fascists when they deem their preservation efforts to have failed.

This is a great article!!
But I think your own analysis suggests a "semi-continuity" thesis between conservatism and fascism, though not liberalism or socialism (or anything else), and not based on Marxist ideas of capital.

Literally everyone who advises this man is in the intersection of "knows wint tweets" and "does not understand wint tweets"
I just imagined a tire feeling joy, wtf
Didn't you make a meme for this at one point?
