The design is so clean. It didn't get in the way of the gameplay at all like I felt it did sometimes with Marabunta.
Pacts board game setup on a table
@dvcgames.bsky.social Pacts was really good. I played 4 new to me 2-player games last night and this one took the cake. Even beat out the great Kanizia's similar game, Marabunta. Highly recommend giving this a try if you enjoy high interaction. Best new game of 2026 for me so far
It was so good! Both agreed it was the favorite of our 4 x 2p game night.

I'm trying to get this to the table tonight
USAID spent about $35B in 2024, so DOGE killing it let's us pay for about a month of destruction in Iran #americafirst
This is what people mean when they talk about military industrial complex. This is what this guy clearly loves to do. You can dislike your enemy, but you should never get enjoyment from war
Disgusting
I'm also curious if reviewers intentionally try to limit communication so as not to be swayed. For example, doing a live teach first would eliminate the issue. But we all know that when we teach our game during a play test it tends to influence player enjoyment positively. Tough spot either way
Makes total sense. Your games and process are way more artistic than what I do. I focus almost entirely on the mechanics for my prototypes which lends itself more to the automation of digitizing it. I wish I had your creativity on the art side, but at least I get a benefit out of what I'm capable of
It depends a lot on what tool you use to create your game for print. I use dextrous which has an export to TTS option that means you really just need to setup the game table (like you would to play the physical game) at least for basic components (getting custom minis etc is more work)

Distilled on bga is great. I've played almost 600 times
Well, @elizhargrave.bsky.social should get to see these kind words ๐
Did some Googling. I think she conflated "24% of the nation's homeless are in California" with "24, wait 28, well basically 30% of California is homeless"
Crossroads in Manassas Virginia would be a great stop if it's not already on your list
Meaning he's probably available for a 5th, maybe conditional
I wonder what the breakdown is for pro athletes vs sports fans. I bet fans are pretty evenly split. Athletes... probably much less
Too bad more of them didn't at least use the excuse/cover of standing by the women's team. Kind of a layup option if they didn't want to go for any reason

In today's video I share some insights from judging entries from this year's @cardboardedison.com award, and some tips that you can apply to your own games, whether you enter them in a contest or not!

Very fun game day, mostly card games. 12 hours, pretty much straight.
This all makes sense and I've heard it before. But, even knowing it, I still find it hard to put the "fun" on display. When playing a game, I usually don't see the fun until I experience it 1st hand, so I have trouble explaining it to others as well.
This was a surprise hit for me at paxu when I picked up the reprint (not realizing it was an older game)
