A few from the banks of the River Swale yesterday.
Weld, Common Whitlow Grass and a Pelt lichen (not sure which).
Thanks 👍
Didn’t expecting that either😂😂🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
How does one know they are ‘wild’?
Wasn’t expect that this morning!
I’ll have a gander ta.
My first Coltsfoot (aka Sladewort) of the year on a glorious Swaledale spring afternoon.
I’ll get a better pic of the surface, but I’m familiar with Turkeytail and don’t think it was. Looked more like Hairy Curtain Crust but would need to look again.
Not sure which species, but a fine display on a log in the local pub car park.
Hairy Bittercress and Shining Cranesbill making a start on MiL’s patio @ 290m asl in Swaledale
Chap I was with pointed out what the dog was doing in the Ramsons pic🤣🤣
The woods are coming alive!
Wood Speedwell (?), Ramsons and possibly Rusty Porecrust.
Turkeys and Elfs in the woods yesterday!
And who could blame you!
Once saw 13 hobbies hunting at the same time there many years ago!
Wonderful spot. Jealous!
Was lovely yesterday when the sun was out. 13° here!
Should be, it’s the same map!
c220 Pinks just gone up-dale over Low Row (Westish).
Too busy sorting a failing MiL out! Only joy is an hours dog walk atm.
Mr S is OK. Got a lot of family issues atm (both him and Mrs S sadly).
Give him a bell.
I keep hearing folk say about how wet it’s been recently, but the figures disagree (as I do).
It’s never dried up and has always been ‘moist’ weather. It’s not been windy either to help dry stuff up, but certainly no large rainfall totals.
One of only two Cherry Plum in Swaledale I know of (no others recorded) just coming into flower.
Surely there are more?
(Distribution map from plantatlas2020.org/atlas/2cd4p9h.…)
Heard again in same spot yesterday along with Oystercatcher. View obscured so no visuals.
First Primroses for me yesterday.
Hearing Curlew calling in Swaledale (Low Row area) wasn’t on today’s bingo card!

Crimped Gill and Black Witches Butter together with a weird shaped Holly. Banks of the Tees at Barnard castle
Nice to see the first Aconites of the year. On the banks of the Swale at Grinton.
Crepidotus species
Hairy Curtain Crust
Yellow brain or Witches butter
Turkeytail
It’s been lovely to see all the fungus appearing on a lane we often walk the dogs along opposite Low Row. Arum and Dogs mercury are also starting to appear. 🍄🍄🟫 #spring
C200 pinks just gone NW up/over Swaledale. Possibly same group that flew NW over Nosterfield earlier as reported on their WhatsApp group.
